Henry and I are proud to announce: our summer reading program is ready for unveiling!
…A little background:
The American Library Association choses a summer reading theme every year. For 2026, the theme is based on ever-popular topics: dinosaurs, paleontology, and archaeology. In the spirit of discovery, this summer’s ALA theme is:
“Unearth a Story”.
This inspired Henry and me to create, “THE LOST SONG OF THE SABERTOOTH”!
Of course, Summer Readers will become part of a “dig-crew",
using rhythm, melody, and sound effects to piece together the
mysterious “Lost Song of the Sabertooth”. This epic program mixes fun facts about fossils, excavation, and
the layers of time with the thrill of playing unusual
percussion instruments.
If you like the sound of that, please join us! Performances will be posted on SticksAndTones.com. If you happen to share the flyer with your friendly library or school, you will increase the odds that we will play in your vicinity. ;-)
Thank you, Everyone, for your continued support of and interest in Sticks and Tones and general Flurry shenanigans!
¡Feliz año nuevo!

Tomorrow! Prescott Chorale
2:15pm Concert Preview (Always fun)
3:00pm Concert
Ruth Street Theater
1050 Ruth Street on the PHS campus
Majestic, powerful, and deeply moving, this masterwork stands alongside the greatest sacred choral works in history - Bach’s Mass in B Minor and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis.
A true musical milestone, the Mass in C Minor is Mozart at his most transcendent—soaring melodies, dramatic choral passages, and virtuosic solos crafted for the opera stage. Though Prescott audiences have thrilled to the Chorale’s performances of Mozart’s Requiem and Vespere Solennes de Confessore, this monumental Mass has never before been performed here - until now.
Joined by internationally acclaimed soloists from the grand opera stage and a full orchestra, the Prescott Chorale invites you to witness the splendor and spiritual intensity of one of Mozart’s final large-scale works. Don’t miss this unforgettable afternoon of musical history in the making.
One afternoon only.
One masterwork.
One unforgettable experience.

I hope you can join Henry Flurry and me ("Sticks and Tones”) for a chill evening of music and poetry inspired by the rhythms of nature!
Saturday, 9/6 at 6:30
https://highlandscenter.org/upcoming-event/sticks-and-tones-concert/
Performed under the pines in the Highlands Center for Natural History's fresh-air amphitheater, Maria and Henry weave percussion, piano, guitar, voice, water, and spoken word into an evening that is meant to be shared.
Gems from classical, folk, jazz, and world music join original poems to create a tapestry of sparkling, nature-inspired moments. Reflective and deeply connected to the natural world, this is an evening where music mingles the joy of community and fresh air with the sounds of the forest.
