I’m sharing this because I know that this is a personal matter and one quite embarrassing for those that suffer from it. Many people do not know and understand that long term stress can be the cause of herpes simplex 1 and outbreaks of it. The sores can appear anywhere on the body. I’m sharing this because a long time friend of mine has suffered from it for years and her and I did some research and tried different oils only to find that Bergamot helped support her the most. Her body reacted immediately to applying this oil and having this support her skin.

To the left, the one I used to use. After all, Mrs. Meyer's is a good brand, right? 🤷‍♀️All natural with no chemicals (or so I thought...).

But it's not. Not at all. Not even close. Sure, it's a better choice than say, another commercial brand (which shall go unnamed), but it's still toxic. 🚫

How do I know this?

I'm not a scientist or a genius. 🤓I cheat and use the "Think Dirty" App (it's free - go download it now). You simply scan any product that is in their database and it spits out a rating.

Now, a lower score is better (ideally, you want to go with products that are 0-2) and higher is worse. As you can see my former dish soap scored a 9! HSB! 😳😬😩

Why? Well, one ingredient really messed things up for the Meyer's peeps. It's a little thing called "fragrance". Unbeknownst to many, this one ingredient, which is laced in most personal care, household, and BABY 👶🏻PRODUCTS (the part that makes me the craziest) to make things smell good, can actually be up to 3,163 TOXIC CHEMICALS in that ONE WORD. It's basically a "catch all" ingredient that pulls the wool over consumers' eyes 🙈because companies are not required to DISCLOSE what is in the word fragrance. Sneaky, sneaky.

Admittedly, this app has a double-edged sword, because unless you've completely swapped out everything in your home, it will make you want to like, immediately. But, knowledge is power - and it's about baby steps. One thing at a time. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater - start small and just continue in that direction until you've conquered each area of your home.

Now, we use Thieves Dish Soap, which is 100% plant-based 🌱with a list of ingredients I can pronounce, plus essential oils 💧to make it "smell" good (and add some powerful 💪cleaning properties).
