To our wonderful clients:

Shear Delight will be closed from Dec. 24th through Dec. 29th. to allow us to celebrate the 🎅🏼Christmas🎅🏼holiday with our families. The salon will be open by appointment only on Dec.30th and then closed again on Dec.31st and Jan.1st, 2026.
We will reopen on Jan. 2nd for normal business hours.
We appreciate all of your wonderful well wishes, gifts, and treats during this holiday season.

Shear Delight
I have really thought long and hard about how I’d compose this letter. I have never wanted to do one, I have never felt the need to in my 32 year’s as a cosmetologist. Unfortunately….lately, the need has come.
I do not feel the need to apologize for being a busy cosmetologist. I am honored to work on you…. I appreciate your business and am thankful you choose me to be a part of your beauty routine.
Recently however, I have been made to feel bad about needing time off for medical issues I was dealing with, and also made to feel bad about being booked and unaccommodating.
I guess I should explain, I do not have any paid sick days, paid personal time, paid vacation day’s, or paid holiday’s. If by chance I am sick (a very rare occurrence because if I’m not working, I’m not earning) then know…. I am in fact sick.
I plan my vacation’s…..well I shouldn’t need to explain this. If you get vacation’s, I too should be able to take a vacation. I sometimes need a personal day because, sometimes you take whatever appointment’s your doctor can give you.
I don’t gain anything by missing days of work. My husband and I need both our incomes to take care of our personal and work obligations. So I don’t miss many days.
I do my best to accommodate all of my clients needs and have even cut many vacation’s short so I am available to you for your important dates. I do ask for that same grace and respect from my clients.
We all live in a world that wants so much from us. But, if we can maybe just try to be courteous to each other’s feelings, and practice patience for each other’s needs, things would be a little less stressful on us individually.
I work between 40-46 hours every week. I see many of you once a month.
I do this all with regular back injections, neck injections, hiding pain, but I do it. I’ll continue to do it, because I love my job.
I love my relationship with each of you. It warms my heart when you leave with a smile on your face.
But, I will no longer be made to feel bad. I will no longer be made to return back to work not feeling good because you can’t wait just a few more day’s or weeks. I need to take care of myself in order to continue my job. I’ve been told several, several times by physicians to cut back. I haven’t yet, I’m trying not to….but if I continue to go without taking care of myself and my personal needs, you won’t have any of me.
If I tell you I’m booked, I’m not lying. I’m not dodging you, ignoring you, trying to forget you, I’m just booked. I’ll do my absolute best to get you in at the soonest opening. But, I will no longer compromise myself, my personal time, my sick time, my vacation, or my holiday.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your beauty routine, I appreciate you, all of you. If you find my request for grace and patience too much going forward, then we may not be a good fit, and that’s okay. If you’re willing to cut me some slack in our future appointments, then I look forward to seeing you.

Happy Friday all….
Just a note to all my clients. I have started a 2 week vacation. Next week I’m off to celebrate my daughter as she is getting married June 15th. Our family is very excited to be gaining such a lovely son in law. The following week I’m off for some much needed down time.
I will not be answering any texts or calls about work until I’m back in on Tuesday, June 25th. If you need assistance, please contact the salon at 764-4494 and leave a message. Someone will reach out when they get a minute. I know I’m booked pretty solid when I return so please be kind if I’m not able to get you in right away….thank you for all the well wishes leading up to our daughter’s wedding. You have all been so sweet with your kind words.

Good afternoon. Carol here…..just a heads up, I’m on vacation from Feb. 9 through Feb. 20. I’ll be back into the salon on Feb. 21st. As of right now I am completely booked until March 19th so do your best to keep your scheduled appointments or you’ll have to be pushed out a bit. I will not have phone access while I’m away so please call the salon 764-4494 with any scheduling changes or questions. Meghan and Sherry will get back to you when they get time.

Good Saturday afternoon. I am officially on vacation. I’ll be back into the salon on Tuesday, Sept. 26th. If you need to change an appointment or schedule one, please call the salon at 764-4494 and leave a message on the machine and when the girls have time they’ll return your call or I’ll take care of it when I’m back in. Happy Friday!!! I’m on vacation starting now. I’m out of town from Monday the 17th through Saturday the 22nd. I will not be responding to any work messages because my brain needs a break😂. Sherry will be in the salon on Monday, Thursday, Friday and 1/2 day Saturday. Meghan will be in on Thursday and Friday.
