Tanning Tips 101 💫

☀️ Indoor tanning and natural sunlight both contribute to cumulative UV exposure. That means a tanning session followed by several hours outdoors may increase the skin’s total UV dose in a short period of time.

☀️ 🛏️ Both sunlight and tanning equipment contain UVA and UVB rays in different ratios. UVA is more associated with oxidation of existing melanin (visible colour), while UVB plays a larger role in stimulating melanogenesis, the process involved in new pigment production. 🧬

⚠️ Too much exposure too quickly may increase the chance of overexposure, irritation, dehydration, or uneven-looking results.

FAQ TIME 👩‍🏫‼️

💉 Hyaluronic acid fillers attract and hold water in the skin. After injections, the lips commonly experience temporary swelling, tenderness, redness, and sometimes bruising as part of the body’s inflammatory healing response.

☀️ Heat and UV exposure can increase vasodilation (widening of blood vessels), which may temporarily worsen swelling or irritation right after filler.

🧬 Current evidence does not show that one tanning session immediately dissolves filler. Filler naturally breaks down over time through metabolism, movement, enzymes, and normal tissue processes.

⚠️ The bigger concern immediately after injections is excessive heat, inflammation, and dehydration especially if the lips are still swollen or healing.
