I’m a 52 year old former obese truck driver that now runs at least a 5k most every day.

Ran my second mile this year after fighting through inflammation and swelling in both knees since January. Then I even felt good enough to go to the gym and lift heavy-to-me-things.

This isn’t a double entendre. 🤣

Ran with Gypsy Circus Cider Company run club for the second Wednesday in a row. If the this isn’t a PR for me, it’s damn close. I started with a bang and ended with a whimper, but still had a decent-for-me average.

Edit: As it turns out, It wasn’t even close to a PR…but it was still a good run.

Went for a run tonight. At the bottom is a screenshot of my watch at the 8k mark so I could compare it to my crazy 8’s time. I ran 1:1 run:walk the entire 5+miles. It’s not fast, but it’s not sitting on the couch, either.

I used an interval timer last night and experimented with 60/60. 60 seconds running, 60 seconds walking and recovering. My average was a minute faster than my last run. But looking back, I’ve don’t 13’s recently, so, time will tell if this will help my times improve.

Got back on the wagon of running at work. I didn’t want to do it and it felt good all at the same time. I’m at 10% of what I finished off last year with. I need to step it up!

I didn’t get to my tentative goal of 600 miles, but I’m pleased with 551 miles run. And I’m sure that, with all the runs Apple Fitness didn’t record, I was closer than this. When I stopped counting, it was eight times that it didn’t give me credit.

Tonight’s run was brought to you by [the album in photos]. It’s my first run in weeks because of the holidays, quitting my job, moving all my stuff home from my truck in Missouri, and then starting training with the new company. Tonight we’re at a hotel on the east end of Louisville. It’s my first Kentucky 5K. I am on the fourth floor and haven’t taken the elevator yet, even after two weeks of staying in hotels. So tonight’s run time was slow because it included several times coming and going to my room.

Anyway, happy New Year’s Eve.
