If you are considering entering into an apprenticeship in West Virginia, it’s important to make sure everything is properly approved through the state.

Before beginning any apprenticeship:

✔️ The salon must be approved by the West Virginia Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists
✔️ The licensed cosmetologist (trainer) must be approved to offer apprenticeships
✔️ The apprentice (student) should also be properly registered

You can verify all of this by visiting the official state website: wvbbc.com
Go to “Verification of License” and search:

🔎 The salon name
🔎 The licensed cosmetologist
🔎 Your own name (if you are registered as an apprentice)

This ensures your hours will count and that you are training legally and safely under state guidelines.
