Many people believe that electrolysis and laser are the same thing. Here are some key differences to note when trying to decide what treatment is right for you. Laser cannot treat light colored hairs (white, blonde, red or even medium brown). It cannot treat dark skin. It can’t be used near the eyes. It lasts anywhere from 1-7 years. Laser uses a light frequency that detects hair pigment for removal. Electrolysis uses a combination of heat and electricity to treat each individual hair follicle. As long as your technician can see the hair it is treatable. Electrolysis is the only FDA approved option for permanent hair removal.

Did you know Electrolysis has been around for over 150 years 🤯 Therefore we know it works and that there won’t be any long term health risks associated with this type of treatment. It was originally performed by doctors for the removal of ingrown eyelashes. As people realized they could have a permanent fix to those unwanted hairs, they then wanted all kinds of other unruly hairs removed. The doctors became overwhelmed with just removing hairs. So they had to train people (electrologists) to do this work for them so they could continue on treating other health related issues. That is how electrolysis began and the rest is hostory folks!
