SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT PROFILE
Florencio Gonzales, Pueblo Central High, received a Hurliman Scholarship, a Greenhouse Scholarship, a Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation Scholarship, a Onward Energy Scholarship, the Robert K. and Mary Ellen Buck Scholarship, and Destination and Exploration Awards.

At Iowa State University, he will study Mechanical Engineering in hopes of becoming a Sports Engineer, designing athletic equipment.

“My engineering classes helped me decide on my career choice," he said. "I have also had the opportunity to understand what college looks like by completing 68 college credits, and an Associates of Arts degree, through concurrent enrollment.

“I would like to thank all of my teachers, from preschool to Colorado State University Pueblo, who have helped me learn not only academically, but also who I am.”

Congratulations to Mr. Kovac on your retirement and congratulations to DJ Johnson on your new position as principal of South High School what an amazing accomplishment. B.O.B will continue to keeping you looking fresh as you step into these new roles!

Congratulations to current Assistant Principal and longtime South staff member Daryl "DJ" Johnson, named as South's new principal. Mr. Johnson will replace Mr. Kovac, who is retiring.
