Handmade on the Highways

Well, one of the not-so-fun parts of campground life… watching new friends pull out and head to their next adventure. 🥺

We met some really great people here this summer, and today one of those couples packed up and hit the road.

It’s funny how you meet people at a campground, start hanging out, and before you know it, you’re sad to see them go.

Safe travels, friends! We’re so glad our paths crossed, and hopefully they cross again somewhere down the road. ❤️

Living here at Cherry Creek State Park, Colorado Parks and Wildlife never disappoints. We went with our friends for a little sunset boat ride tonight. Thanks Jessica and Brandon for the invitation 🩷

Working on labeling lip balms for Dot & Co. today. I love being able to work outside. The view is not terrible that’s for sure!

Well… it’s official. ❤️

Today we officially closed on our house.🏡

It’s a little surreal and definitely bittersweet. That house held a whole lot of life, memories, family, laughter, hard days and really good ones. Closing that chapter comes with a lot of feelings.

But there’s excitement too.

We made a pretty big decision when we chose this completely different life, and today feels like one more step into it. A new chapter. New places. New experiences. New memories still waiting to be made.

So today we’re letting ourselves feel all of it — a little sad, a little nostalgic, a little relieved, and yes… a little excited about whatever comes next. ❤️

Here’s to closing one chapter and seeing where the next one takes us. 🥂

One of the things that made the cut when we downsized to the RV was our pressure canner. 😂 We love meal prepping and we absolutely hate wasting leftovers, so there was no way we were leaving this thing behind.

We had leftover pot roast with carrots, potatoes and broth, added some peas and corn, and turned it into 5 jars of soup for another day. 🙌🏼

RV kitchen or not, we’re still finding ways to do all the things we did at home — just in a lot less space. 😂

So which are you… team leftovers, team meal prep, or team “I am absolutely not eating that again?”

You never know what you’re going to see here at Cherry Creek State Park, Colorado Parks and Wildlife! We walked out our front door this morning and saw these handsome bucks just having a little breakfast!

Saddest day ever 😢

Yesterday we had an adventure! We took the RTD light rail down to Union Station to watch the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies! It was such a fun night! I think this is one of my favorite parts of this life- being able to retire early and experience the spontaneous things in life when we are still young enough to enjoy them!

Nature's Educators came out to Cherry Creek State Park, Colorado Parks and Wildlife and brought some VERY cool friends with them

We learned about tarantulas, scorpions, snakes, toads and raptors, including this amazing Peregrine Falcon 🦅! Super excited to add him to our life list of birds!

What a fun and unexpected experience here as resident volunteers.
