I see a lot of henna paste recipes that involve kitchen scales, measuring cups, sifters, knee high stockings (for straining paste), and so on.
In my experience, it really doesn't have to be that difficult. I free-pour and eyeball everything ... I mean, henna is an ancient art - staining skin LONG before the science of pH balance and monoterpene alcohol was discovered.
I'm happy to know and understand the Science of Dye Release, Optimal Stain, and Dye Demise - so that I CAN Eyeball my paste... But I like to keep it simple.
Here's a quick video made of mixing paste.
We add more liquid and sugar after dye release to get it to rolling consistency.
For now, a bit of acidic liquid, and some gentle, high-terp essential oils (I use Lavender)... mix with organic BAQ powder and voila!

Palm henna is tricky for someone as fidgety as me. I move, crack, and clench my hands a lot (like, a lot, a lot)...
I learned years ago, my personal palm henna needs to be done fast, and needs to steer clear of the creases near my thumb and pinky because I WILL smudge it - like one of those ink blot tests - before I'm even done the design.
So, here's simple, fast, and basic (but pretty I think)... Now, if I can just keep my hand flat and open for an hour.

Week 2 of our 4-week Henna Course!
We discussed Symbolism and Cultural Appreciation vs Appropriation, then we broke down designs into simple elements.
Once everyone was gone, and having a few cones leftover, I took some time to henna my own arm, and my teenage daughter actually let me henna her for the first time in a very long time!
A great night all around!

I'm opening up my schedule for a few Birthday Parties / Ladies' Nights / etc ...
I only book 2 parties per weekend, do if you know you want a henna party, get booked in!
Party pricing:
• 1.5 hours = $120
• 2 hours = $160
• 2.5 hours = $200
Mileage cost applies if more than 15 minutes from my home address in Babcock Ranch.
