Cleansers 🫧
⚪️ Cream cleansers.
-suitable for dry, dehydrated, and/or mature skin. These don’t generally lather, and cleanse the skin without stripping water and lipids. If you love cream cleansers, check out @circadia_skin #almondolamilkcleanser
🟡Oil cleansers. suitable for all skin types (especially oily and/or dehydrated). Oil cleansers are generally used as a pre cleanse, or 1st cleanse to remove makeup/spf/daily debris. These don’t lather either, but they generally emulsify into a water-soluble solution when you add water. If you have oily or acneic skin, choose one that emulsifies. My favorite is #ocdoilcleanser from @codeofharmony . If you have mature or dry skin, you can use one that does not emulsify, but rather leaves behind skin conditioning lipids like #vitaminveilcleanser from @circadia_skin
🫧Gel cleansers. suitable for normal and oily skin types. These lather when you add water, but should still leave skin feeling hydrated when you rinse, unlike soap. If you love a good frothy lather without leaving the skin tight dry and itchy, check out #lipidreplacingcleansinggel by @circadia_skin.
🐭 I know everyone lives a *squeakyclean* feeling, but if your skin feels tight after cleansing, chances are you’ve stripped it. Continuously stripping your face with harsh cleansers and/or hot water causes inflammaging and dehydration, along with a compromised barrier. = aging, irritation, sensitive/reactive skin, increased oil production, and breakouts.
pH balanced means what??? neutral? I don’t even know what commercial cleansers mean when they say pH balanced- but I do know that healthy skin has a pH of 4.5-5.5 (slightly acidic), so a cleanser with a pH of 7 is going to disrupt that acid mantle, even though 7 is neutral, it’s more alkaline than healthy skin. (This is why toners were created. The skin’s pH had to be restored after cleansing with soap-like cleansers) Professional cleansers are formulated to be in close range of your skins natural pH, so they’re usually much kinder and help to keep your skin in good health. ✨ 09/10/2022

Vanilla Protein “Pudding”
I just cheffed up this mini meal. High protein. Nutrient dense. No sugar crash.
When you mix protein powder into plain Greek yogurt, it tastes just like vanilla pudding- except, all the protein, sans the sugar.
I topped this with banana, dates, and a blend of sesame and sunflower seeds. You can build your own and add whatever you like- it’s a perfect serving, and- delicious!

what IS breakfast, actually?
It’s in the word.
It’s the meal you have to break your fast.

Human digestion is about 12hrs start-finish. After stomach emptying, which is about 4hrs (depending on the meal size and composition), you begin absorption and assimilation, ending with elimination. So, you’re either doing THAT, or you’re in a fasted state.
Generally, you will enter a fasted state AFTER 12hrs from your last bite of food or sip of something.
So, do the math. If you’re waking up and eating within a 12hr window of your last bite.... you’re not having breakfast. You’re just.... still eating.
Socially, we’ve accepted that breakfast is the meal you have when you wake- but really, it’s the 1st meal you have when you are coming out of a fast. And then, it IS an important meal, because it’s your 1st fuel when you come out of that state and your body is primed and ready for it!
I drop the word “most” because ALL of your meals are important.
Everything you put into your body to fuel it, build it, and repair it, is important. Take a break from around-the-clock-eating, allow your body to rest from digest. *disclaimer- some health conditions will not tolerate this. Be smart. Ask your Dr.

Craving chocolate 🍫?! 🙋🏻‍♀️
What your body might be telling you is, you need magnesium.
Mg.

When we’re stressed, our magnesium stores can become depleted, and dark chocolate is deliciously rich in this mineral.
Just make sure you go for 70% cocoa or higher. Anything less has more sugar than it’s worth.

Other sources of magnesium are leafy greens 🥬,
Avocados🥑,
Beans,
and pumpkin seeds.

every challenge is an invitation, in disguise.
🦋
what is this challenge inviting you to do?!
Slow down?
Re-Prioritize?
Develop faith?
Practice gratitude?
Become creative and resourceful?
Prepare for the unexpected?
🦋
Adversity always exposes our weaknesses and our blind spots. It introduces us to the parts of ourselves we didn’t know existed. The bright parts, and the shadowy parts.
We WILL look back at this time, either with gratitude or with regret.
That depends on what we decide to make of it.
Our experience during these circumstances depend on how we choose to see it, and what we choose to think about it.
🦋
Complain or be Grateful?
Shrink or Expand?
Worry or Trust?
🦋
What books will you read?
What projects will you start? Which ones will you finish?
What habits will make? Which ones will you break?
What’s your invitation in all of this?
Mine is.... figure out how to create health, beauty, and wellness, without physically seeing or touching people! I work with my hands, but, now I need to get creative so I can do that same work, from a distance. My leading question is, how can I add health, beauty, and fitness to the world, using only an internet connection? That’s my work these days. Oh, and, spending some super high-quality time with my husband and my dog-baby ☺️🐶.

I know right now, your mind and your skin, might be going a little bit crazy.

For most of us, this is the first full week with disrupted work schedules, and cancelled beauty and fitness appointments.

If your skin is getting a little crazy... check these likely causes...

increased stress 🚨

increased sugar in your diet 🍪

increased alcohol 🍷

dehydration ⬇️💧

staying up late 🦉

inadvertent, nervous picking 😱

If your skincare routine has been consistent, with no major disruptions, but you're noticing that your complexion is looking a little stressed, and perhaps sprouting some new breakouts, then it's likely one, or a combination of the above.

If that’s you, do this ⬇️
