Some days I’m packing your Sparrow Soaps orders… and some days I’m sitting in the dentist’s chair convinced I’m about to lose every tooth I have. 😅
Spoiler alert: after a lot of laughter (mostly at myself), it turns out I just have one angry, flared-up tooth that will hopefully settle down.
It got me thinking about anxiety.
Anxiety has a funny way of convincing us that tomorrow’s worst-case scenario is today’s reality. We create entire stories in our minds before we even know the facts. We live in a future that hasn’t happened yet, and our bodies respond as if it already has.
How many hours of our lives are spent worrying about things that never come to pass?
The Bible speaks about anxiety often because God knows our hearts so well. Interestingly, the exact word “anxiety” appears only a handful of times But the message is repeated over and over: “don’t let fear or worry lead your life”
Today was a reminder that facts are always better than fear. We don’t have to borrow tomorrow’s problems before they arrive.
So if your mind is racing today, maybe this is your reminder to pause, breathe, and wait for the facts before believing the story your anxiety is trying to write.
Now… back to packing your orders, with all my teeth still intact. 😉 !
