Should you get a massage?

Well… if you’re asking, there’s a pretty good chance your body already filed the complaint. 😂

You don’t have to wait until you’re completely wrecked to make an appointment.

Regular maintenance massage can help you stay ahead of the tension instead of constantly playing catch-up when something finally starts screaming at you.

Think:
✨ addressing tension before it becomes a bigger problem
✨ supporting mobility and range of motion
✨ keeping those “why does THAT hurt now?” compensation patterns in check
✨ catching the little things before they become the I can barely move things
✨ and, honestly, giving yourself a reason to slow the hell down for an hour (or 2)

And here’s the other thing…

Last-minute appointments aren’t always available.
If you wait until your neck is locked up, your shoulders have moved permanently into your ears, and you’re googling “can a massage therapist fix this?”… you may have to wait for an opening.

Your body shouldn’t have to fall apart before you make time for it. 🫶🏼

Schedule your maintenance massage before your body starts sending increasingly aggressive emails. 😂

Your body shouldn’t have to fall apart before you make time for it. 🫶🏼

One of the biggest differences I see between clients who schedule regular massage and those who only come in when something hurts is how much work it takes to get them back to baseline.

When you come in regularly, we’re maintaining your body instead of constantly playing catch-up.

Regular massage can help:
✨ Address tension before it becomes a bigger problem
✨ Keep chronic tightness and discomfort from building up
✨ Support mobility and range of motion
✨ Reduce compensation patterns from one area overworking because another hurts
✨ Catch those little “something feels off” issues before they become “I can barely move” issues

And there’s another important piece:

When you wait until you’re already in pain, there may not be an appointment available when you need one.

Then you wait longer, compensate more, and by the time you get on the table, it may take multiple sessions to get things back under control.

I see the difference with my regular maintenance clients all the time. Because we’re consistently addressing their problem areas, we can usually work through issues much more easily before they become bigger problems.

That doesn’t mean you have to book every Tuesday for the rest of your life. 😂

It simply means make yourself part of your own schedule.

If your schedule doesn’t allow you to plan months ahead, that’s okay. Even scheduling your next appointment before you leave can help keep your body on track.

Don’t wait for your body to demand your attention. Give it some before it has to. 💆🏼‍♀️

Your future, slightly-less-achy self will thank you.

💚 Client’s Corner – September Feature: Melissa A. 💚

From the Client:

“Alexis is truly one of a kind. ❤️ My monthly appointments with her have become something I genuinely look forward to. She always takes the time to focus on my neck and shoulders, where I hold so much tension, and somehow knows exactly what my body needs.

I leave every appointment feeling lighter, more relaxed, and like I can finally breathe again. She is so caring, attentive, and genuinely passionate about helping people feel their best. I’m so grateful I found her and wouldn’t want anyone else taking care of me. I can’t recommend Alexis enough! 💕”

From Lex:

Melissa and I have worked together on and off for years, and more recently, her monthly massage has become a pretty reliable part of her self-care. She carries a lot of tension through her neck and shoulders, which seems to flare up especially when life gets stressful. Add in two very physical jobs and her body has plenty to keep me busy.

One of my favorite things about working with Melissa is that she’s learned to recognize when her body is ready for another session. Around three or four weeks after an appointment, she starts thinking, “Yep… it’s time.” Our goal isn’t necessarily to use the deepest pressure possible, but to find what actually works for her body. We’ve also added cupping and facial cupping, which have become great additions to her therapeutic sessions.

Melissa loves to travel and gets massages on vacation, but she’ll be the first to tell you that nothing compares to ours. She’s even joked that she’s afraid someone will “mess her up” before she gets home to me. 😂 I’ll happily accept the compliment—and put everything back where it belongs when she returns!

I’m grateful for the trust we’ve built over the years and that Melissa continues to make taking care of her body a priority.

Please be patient… 🦆🦆🦆
Arrow Massage Therapy has recently expanded its staff.

Unfortunately, the new hires are:

• Unqualified
• Easily distracted
• Terrible at answering emails
• Demanding snacks every 13 minutes

We apologize for any delays. 😂

Therapy for Hands & Hooves… and apparently now webbed feet.

They’re cute, though, so we’re keeping ’em. 💛💛💛

To the friends, family members, coworkers, and kind humans who have ever mentioned Arrow Massage Therapy in conversation…

Thank you. 🤍

Every time you tell someone about my business, share a post, recommend me to a friend, or simply say, “I know someone you should see,” you’re helping a small business grow.

Word of mouth means more than you probably realize. It’s not just a referral—it’s someone trusting you enough to send another person my way, and trusting me enough to care for them.

I’m incredibly grateful for every person who has supported Arrow, cheered me on, shared my posts, sent someone my way, or simply believed in what I’m building.

Thank you for helping my little business reach more people, one conversation at a time. 🏹

💚 Client’s Corner – August Feature: Elysa S. 💚

From the Client:

“I have been seeing Lex for years through so many stages of my life. She was there for my prenatal and postpartum massages, and she never failed to help me feel relaxed, supported, and pain-free. Having someone I trust through those seasons made such a difference.

Lex’s massages feel intentional. She never assumes each visit should be the same. Instead, she always asks where I’d like to focus that day and tailors each session to exactly what my body needs in that moment. I always leave feeling refreshed and so much better than when I walked in.

As a toddler mom and business owner, it can be hard to prioritize taking care of myself. Lex has not only helped me make self-care a priority, but she also encouraged me to take the leap and open my own business. Having someone who genuinely supports both your personal and professional growth means so much.

I truly look forward to my Wednesday evening appointments—they’re one of my favorite parts of the week. The only thing I wish is that I could see her every month instead of every other!”

From Lex:

Elysa’s journey has been such a fun one to be part of. I started working with her well before she became a mom, and I’ve had the privilege of working with her through so many different stages of life since then.

One of the things I love most about massage therapy is that the body’s needs are never exactly the same. Pregnancy, postpartum recovery, stress, motherhood, and the physical demands of working behind the chair can all affect the body differently. As a hairstylist, Elysa spends a lot of time on her feet and using her neck, shoulders, arms, and upper back, so those areas tend to get plenty of attention during our sessions.

That’s why I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all massage. I take into account what’s going on with your body that day and adjust pressure, techniques, and areas of focus accordingly. Every session should meet you where you are—not where you were at your last appointment.

Knowing I’ve been able to encourage Elysa not only to prioritize her own self-care, but also to take the leap and become a business owner herself, means more than she probably realizes. Supporting my clients extends beyond the massage table whenever I can, and I’m genuinely proud of her for taking that leap and building something of her own. 💚

I’m grateful to have been part of so many chapters of her journey and excited to keep watching her grow, both personally and professionally.

A new month is a fresh opportunity to take care of the one person you’re with every single day—you.

Massage is only part of the equation—what you do between appointments matters, too. 💆🏻‍♀️🔥

One of the most common questions I hear is, “What can I do at home to keep my muscles feeling better?”

One of my favorite recommendations is moist heat therapy.

Moist heat increases circulation, relaxes tight muscles, improves tissue flexibility, and can help reduce chronic aches and stiffness. Just 10-15 minutes before stretching or after a long day can help maintain the benefits of your massage.

Massage helps restore healthy muscle function, but consistent home care is what keeps those results lasting longer.

That’s why I carry the Hot Stuff Heated Neck Wrap in the office. It’s reusable, easy to use, and provides soothing moist heat right where many people carry the most tension—the neck and shoulders.

A quick reminder: Heat is best for muscle tension and stiffness, not fresh injuries or areas with significant swelling. If you’re ever unsure whether heat or ice is the better choice, just ask—I’m happy to help.

Do you use heat as part of your self-care routine? Let me know in the comments! 👇

☕🦝 Anyone else feel like this lately… or is it just me? 😂

When even your coffee needs a coffee, it’s probably time for a reset.

Sure, another cup might help… but if your shoulders are living up around your ears, your back is complaining every time you stand up or remain sitting, and you’re running on caffeine and determination alone, your body might be asking for something more. 😉

Massage therapy can help you:
✨ Melt away tension
✨ Reduce stress
✨ Ease those achy muscles
✨ Leave you feeling refreshed and recharged
✨ Breathe easier and feel lighter

Coffee gets you through the day…
Massage helps you enjoy it. 💗

Ready for a different kind of pick-me-up? Send me a message or call/text 267-354-0666 to schedule your next massage! Mine is already on the books! 🥰
