On Wednesday, March 25th, Queen Anne’s County Commissioners and the Department of Economic Tourism and Development celebrated the 2025-26 Catalyst Q graduates!

Catalyst Q is a minority business training accelerator program for QAC that provides training to local businesses looking to start or grow their business in the county. With financial and consulting help, this program implemented a dynamic suite of services that addressed the key barriers faced by entrepreneurs, access to capital, business knowledge, legal and regulatory compliance, and networking.

Running from October 2025 to March 2026, Catalyst Q had 8 successful participants. The graduating class includes the following individuals:

Alicia Boyd – Humble Hearts Catering & Events LLC
Taccorra Graves – Crafteebabe Kreationz
Desales Ward – Garden Warrior
Shawkeya Johnson – Tips & Toes
Monica Richards – Monica’s Blessed Hands
Kashira Brooks – Mentally Evolve Therapeutic Services
Jean-Pierre Laurenceau – Intercultural Solutions
Janel King – King Beauti

These businesses received a certificate of completion from Queen Anne’s County Commissioners as well as Continuing Education Credits from Chesapeake College.
Congratulations to each of these individuals as we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors!

This 6-month accelerator, led by Queen Anne’s County Economic & Tourism Development, provided local entrepreneurs with hands-on training, mentorship, and access to critical resources to help start and grow their businesses. Through partnerships with Chesapeake College, the Small Business Development Center, and Bay Crossing Consulting, participants gained valuable tools to overcome barriers and build a strong foundation for success.
