Well it’s been a year since my legs were knocked out from under me to be open for service. It’s been an emotional year of up’s and down’s for sure! I took a hit financially and unfortunately that hit continues as the supplies I continue to use to serve you have increased in price tremendously from this date last year to the present. As gas prices raise they will continue to raise these prices of supplies and I can foresee the future if I keep my prices the same I will be paying you to get your hair done, and while I would love to be able to do this I will not survive. My goal is always and will continue to make you feel your best and smile 😃 with confidence but not break your bank account at the same time. I am researching my options of some interesting ideas to comparing and contrasting things to make it the best for you. I am looking at June 1st to have something in place and wanted to give you a heads up. It’s been almost 10 years since I increased pricing because it’s hard to ask for more when you have supported me through so much already and I so appreciate having you all in my life and that in itself is priceless!
Updates to come!
Due to weather and my driveway the salon will be closed today. I will reschedule as soon as possible
Stay safe and warm!!!
Ok it’s almost go time!!!
Rules:
1) be on time to appointment, if you are late I will have to reschedule you and with that I may be late to come retrieve you from your car, I am dealing with 21/2 months of regrowth and or color corrections from box color. I have tried my best to accommodate time for the unknown to the best of my abilities. Please be patient.
2) remain in vehicle until I get you
3) please if you can bring a mask with you as I have limited supply
4)I will take your temp, have you write it down and sign your name with phone number for logging purposes
5) rescheduling may not be done in your normal time frame until about September or October until everyone gets evenly spread out again. Also with that (fingers crossed) school will be back in session and I will have soccer games for Ace that I will not miss as I only get 2 more years of this with him. He will have more evening and Saturday games this year so August-October those will be limited.
6) super excited to see everyone and hear about life!!! ❤️

It’s complicated:
This “stay in place” order has knocked my legs out from under me. I want to open or maybe I wanted to open ASAP until yesterday. It’s frustrating, I was doing Madison’s hair (my daughter) and if you know her we change her hair often and she has been every color, yes even a rainbow, I have never had a problem getting color out to switch colors up it’s just time consuming. Yesterday... first time ever we could not get her color to budge to get to a color to apply desired color and wanted to avoid compromising the health of her hair. I needed to be in my supply store so I could formulate and look at colors and amount of colors they had available but I could only order and curbside pick up. I was dealing with new regulations of the supply store and asking people who don’t do hair about products they had on hand and it was frustrating on both ends from ordering, can’t hold things, can’t return or exchange things, payment, etc. I spent approximately 100 bucks on stuff I couldn’t use but can’t return or exchange and got nothing accomplished from 8am-8pm. That’s just an example of what 1 day at salon through all this was like, it was stressful and no stylist in Illinois has brought in a dime since March 20,2020. The added expense of supplies we will have to have available in salons is outrageous, I am $1000 in and still don’t have some of what will be required to open because it isn’t available as health care providers needed it and we are going to be opening up with other professions who will also need these supplies. The beauty industry is trying to manufacture things as soon and as much as possible, which also comes with a higher price tag compared to consumer manufacturers, it’s part of the industry. So in saying all this, I don’t just get to unlock my door and it’s business as usual. It’s going to be very stressful, time consuming, expensive, and that’s not even dealing with rescheduling all the appointments and getting people in a timely manner(1 at a time) knowing and practicing the regulations, ordering and receiving supplies for doing hair.
I know everyone wants to open Illinois and get back to things as they were, I don’t think they will be the way they were for a while. I hold 3 Illinois state professional licenses and they took time, money and hard work to achieve, I cannot go against the order and risk my licenses by doing hair in my salon, at my house, or at your house. If the Mayor opens up our city I am not sure how that affects me as an Illinois professional license holder, I may have to abide by Illinois state orders even if our Mayor opens up the city businesses. The state of Illinois has not given us guidelines or regulations yet of how we can open, as other states have opened I have heard they got their regulations just 2 days before opening date and had to scramble to find these supplies. I have been watching other states openings and their supply lists trying to plan ahead and I have had things on order since March that keeps getting pushed out on delivery date. It’s stressful on many levels, financially, none of us salon owners have received help and unemployment still is not available. Mentally, I love what I do, I love all my clients like family and I want to help you feel your best and my hands are tied. Anxiety, I have no idea the opening date, I have no idea what the regulations will be, I have no idea how I will handle business and appointment book, I have no idea how getting supplies in a timely manner will work, etc this list goes on and on. I have anxiety over if clients will have fear of what coming into the salon will be, I am a “yes” person who is going to have to say “no” at times. I may have to ask you invasive questions of your travels or who you have been in contact with. I may need to have you bring a mask and gloves with you because I only have so many supplies I can get my hands on. I may have to ask of you to come into my salon, that’s uncomfortable for me.
It’s complicated!!!
The governor has put in the order of the “stay in place” which mean all nonessential businesses must close. I fall into the nonessential business category which means I am closed until May 1st. I cannot “sneak” you in or do house calls as much as I would love to without consequences in my profession. I have been advised to withhold rescheduling anyone until the last week of April to avoid confusion if the order gets prolonged or if we go back in with restrictions of hours or number of clients we can service in a day. I am going to do my best to reschedule fairly and in order from March 21st to the present time we can reopen for business, everyone that already had existing May appointments will keep those appointments and I will fill in gaps with the rescheduled appointments. I will do my best to get everyone in my book in a timely matter please have patience with me. I appreciate all of you and miss you all terribly!
Stay safe ❤️♥️❤️♥️

Bleaching and sanitizing salon!!!
As for now open and plan to stay open until they say I can’t. Your health is most important to me and I am honest(sometimes too honest) we have had sickness and still have sickness in our home. I have had a couple kids diagnosed with influenza, one child with influenza a&b, one with influenza b, one couldn’t get a diagnosis, one they just assume he has influenza.... I have heard everything to they weren’t testing for coronavirus so they gave generic influenza diagnosis to it’s all a political scam??? I don’t know what to believe as things keep shutting down I get more concerned and fear even clearing my throat of a frog.
I would ask my elderly clients and anyone with compromised health issues to evaluate the situation and decide what is best for you. I would ask anyone who has had a fever and cold symptoms to evaluate the situation as well as anyone who traveled for Spring Break or in the past 14 days to also do what is best for everyone. I, myself have had no symptoms but I am also aware I could be a carrier and continue to practice good hygiene.
I am not sure yet my take on the seriousness of this as I think we are all confused and are not sure what to believe of the media... “fake news” gives us all “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” syndrome!!! I can only do my part on my end and be honest about what is going on in my home. Please give me the same consideration as we move forward.
You know as my client I consider you my family and I want to protect you as I would one of my family members. I love you all and thank you for being so supportive of me!!!
The driveway to salon is super slick, I have it salted as best I can. Be careful!!!
