This is a cute book I read with my students and it would make a wonderful Christmas present.

Celebrated annually on October 1st, National Raccoon Day, also known as International Raccoon Appreciation Day, aims to educate the public about raccoons' importance in the ecosystem and encourage appreciation for them. The day was started in 2002 by a California girl who wanted to highlight the positive aspects of raccoons.

I wrote a book called Sam's Snowflake. Sam is a raccoon and he loves winter. This year winter is late and he sets off to find his favorite season. Along the way his scarf changes colors and patterns.

The illustrations are whimsical and funny and are 100% hand drawn. There are dots in sets of seven, five, and three hidden within the illustrations. The text is written in a personalized style. At the end of the story there are step by step instructions on how to draw Sam and his snowflake.
