Holiday parties, winter travel, weddings and milestone events may still feel a little ways off, but certain treatments require more planning than others.

If you’re considering plastic surgery, it’s important to leave appropriate time for recovery. Swelling and bruising don’t disappear on the same timeline for every patient or every procedure, and your results will continue to settle and evolve after you’ve returned to your normal routine.

The same planning mindset applies to treatments like Sculptra. Rather than creating an immediate change, Sculptra stimulates your body’s own collagen production over time, and your recommended plan may include multiple treatment sessions.

If there’s an important date on your calendar, bring it up during your consultation. We can discuss your goals, the procedure or treatment you’re considering, and a realistic timeline that gives your body the time it needs.

Planning ahead now could make all the difference when your event arrives 🤍

A little PSA from Dr. Phelan 🤍

AI can be an incredibly useful resource for learning, researching, and helping you come prepared with questions. But when it comes to your health, procedures, recovery, and medical decisions, your doctors, surgeons, and medical team should always be your trusted source.

Use the tools, ask the questions, and bring them to your provider. We’re always here to help you understand what’s right for you.

Some treatments are worth planning ahead for, and Sculptra is one of them 💉

Sculptra works by stimulating your body’s own collagen production, so the changes develop gradually over time. Depending on your individual goals, your treatment plan may also include a series of sessions spaced out over several months.

If you have a wedding, milestone event, or another special occasion on the calendar, starting the conversation early gives your skin and collagen time to respond.

Thinking about Sculptra? Schedule a consultation with our team at Boston Plastic Surgery & Skin + Wellness to create a treatment timeline that works for you 🤍

Body contouring is entering a new chapter with AlloClae.

AlloClae is an off-the-shelf structural adipose filler that allows us to add soft tissue volume and refine body contours without first harvesting fat through liposuction. It can be used in areas including the hips, buttocks, breasts and thighs, with applications ranging from smoothing hip dips to addressing asymmetry, implant rippling and contour irregularities.

What makes this especially exciting is the ability to focus on smaller, strategic adjustments. Sometimes improving a transition, restoring volume or refining an area of asymmetry can make a meaningful difference in the overall proportions of the body.

AlloClae also gives us another option for patients who may not want traditional fat harvesting or may not have sufficient donor fat for fat grafting.

As with any body contouring treatment, where it is placed and how much is used should be highly individualized. Our board-certified plastic surgeons evaluate your anatomy, proportions and goals to determine if AlloClae is appropriate for you.

What does recovery after labiaplasty actually look like?

Injectables have come a long way, and so has the way we use them.

Rejuvenation isn’t always about treating one wrinkle or adding volume to one area. We can look at movement, facial structure, age-related volume changes, collagen production and overall skin quality to determine what may make the most sense for each patient.

For some, that may mean a neuromodulator like Botox, Dysport or Daxxify. For others, it could include thoughtfully placed filler, collagen stimulation with Sculptra or an injectable treatment like SKINVIVE focused on skin smoothness.
And sometimes, the best recommendation is a combination of treatments that work together over time.

Our approach is always individualized, with an emphasis on results that feel refreshed, balanced and still very much like you.

“These implants fit me so well.” And that isn’t by coincidence!

When choosing breast implants, our surgeons consider each patient’s individual frame, anatomy and goals to help determine a size and profile that feels proportionate to their body.

It’s a personalized process from the very beginning 🤍
