GOODBYE one-band cat eye 👋
Found a Douyin tutorial sitting at 160,000 saves. It puts TWO separate bands of light on a single nail, and once you spot it you can't unsee it.
Start with a dark blue cat eye gel, then:
→ tip only, about halfway down, never the full nail
→ one thin coat, that's your whole gradient
→ strong magnet first, pull the wide band
→ swap to a thin bar magnet for the second band
→ hold that one at about forty five degrees, that's the French line
→ fine gold pigment along the very edge, covering the dead tip
The good part: that blue isn't painted on. It's one gel, and the magnet pulls the light into place.
Being honest: the order isn't optional, and she's emphatic about it. Wide band FIRST, then the French line. The forty five degrees is the part that takes practice. And a dark cat eye will never work as a full-nail color, the pigment sits too dense, it just goes muddy.
The best part: her own caption was "nobody asked for this tutorial, but I already filmed it, so here it is." It has 121,000 shares.

White builder gel first, but never all the way to the tip, the tip has to stay see-through. Then cat eye gel, then the magnet: pull left, pull right, slide, circle, look. If it's not right, do it again. That's the whole secret. Cure it the second it looks right, or the light spreads back out.
Then flip it over. Ice cubes in a glass of water 🧊

Soft pink, start to finish. The color goes straight on from the pot, no mixing. Then the magnet pulls that ribbon of light through the middle. Cure it, quick wipe, one coat of gloss on top. That's really it, a pot, a magnet, and a lamp.
