Things That Make The Hair Loft The Hair Loft 🍂

It might just look like hand soap and lotion…

But apparently some of you are paying attention. 😂

When we posted recently, one of our clients commented that she actually looks forward to coming in and seeing what new soap scent is in the bathroom. 🥹

And that made us ridiculously happy.

Because THIS is exactly what we mean when we talk about the little things.

Changing the soap and lotion with the seasons isn’t necessary. Nobody is booking a hair appointment because of bathroom soap. 😂

But we want you to notice that someone thought about you being here.

The coffee. The blankets. The fresh flowers. The seasonal soap. All those tiny little details that make this place feel like The Hair Loft. 🤍

And since today is officially the first day of fall, you know we had to switch things up. 🍂

Now we need to know — does anyone else actually check to see which scent we have when you come in?! 😂

We know some appointments mean you’re hanging out with us for a while, so we’ve always wanted The Hair Loft to feel like somewhere you can actually settle in instead of somewhere you’re waiting to leave.

Apparently September arrives and suddenly everyone is supposed to become a brunette. 😂🍂

We’re here to tell you: you do not have to darken your blonde just because fall is coming.

Sometimes transitioning your blonde for a new season is as simple as changing the tone a little, adding softness at the root, or keeping some natural dimension instead of changing your entire color.

And some of you?

You’ll be bright blonde in January and we fully support your decision. 😂💛

Sometimes being coworkers looks a lot like this. ❤️

A shopping trip to find Crystal’s mother-of-the-groom dress somehow turned into an outing for all three of us… because of course it did. 😂

We spend a LOT of hours standing beside each other behind the chair, but somewhere along the way it became way more than just working together.

We’ve celebrated big things, walked through hard things, taken trips, laughed until we cried, probably annoyed each other a time or two 🤣… and now apparently we’re mother-of-the-groom dress shopping together.

The Hair Loft wouldn’t be The Hair Loft without these friendships.

And don’t worry — she found the dress. 😉

There’s just something about a rich, warm brunette this time of year.

But here’s your reminder: “going darker for fall” doesn’t have to mean one flat dark color. Keeping warmth and dimension is what gives brunette hair that expensive, shiny, lived-in look. 🤎

Better late than never, right?!

We usually go through about 3–4 cases of mini Diet Cokes a month just for our clients! 🥤

And that doesn’t even include what we bring ourselves. 😂 Jess brings her own, and Crystal DEFINITELY brings her own because she is the true Diet Coke addict of The Hair Loft.

If the Diet Coke foils AND Diet Coke hair clips haven’t already given Crystal away… now you know. 🤣

Some people just leave the world a little brighter than they found it. 🤍

A true icon with a heart just as big as her talent. Rest easy, Dolly. ✨

For so many years, curly hair has gotten a bad reputation. We’ve heard it all…

“It’s too frizzy.”
“It’s too much work.”
“I wish I had straight hair.”

But here’s the truth: curls aren’t the problem.

Most of the time, they just need the right products, the right routine, and a haircut designed to help them do what they naturally want to do.

This sweet girl has spent the last several months learning how to care for and style her curls, and it’s been so fun watching her confidence grow. ✨

At this appointment, she took another big step… adding layers for the very first time. It can feel a little scary when you’ve had one shape your whole life, but those layers gave her curls more movement, bounce, and definition while still keeping the beautiful length she loves.

One of my favorite parts of this job is helping someone stop fighting their hair and start embracing what makes it uniquely theirs.
