We are downtown Raleigh’s largest hybrid chair and suite rental salon at over 8,000 square feet and 30+ providers. Our professional team features a diverse array of beauty and wellness providers that are the triangle’s best. Our model centers around environmental sustainability, collaboration over competition, community inclusivity, and world-renowned beauty education.

The Operations Specialist will report to the owners and help manage the onsite operations of The Hightide Salon rental business and DRFT Scalp Facial Spa.

If you are passionate about designing standard operating procedures, business management, onsite needs and scaling a small business, we’d love to talk to you. This is the perfect job for a highly organized leader looking for a change of scenery in a high impact and creative environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 2+ years’ experience in management, operations, employee communications, small business, and financial oversight. Retail experience is a plus. This individual will assist with front-of-house & back office operations, renter relations, client outreach, event planning, product & inventory management, team communications, and salon culture stewardship.

📚️Required Qualifications
2+ years in small business administration and
Premier customer service and client experience
Proficiency in Square POS, and Google Workspace
Strong spreadsheet and reporting skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage up
Able to lift 40 pounds and unpack boxes of products daily as needed
Process development + enhancement

As we navigate Stage 1 Water Restrictions due to a drought in central NC, and celebrate Earth Day simultaneously, we are reminded that the choices we make day to day to prioritize environmental sustainability at our salon are part of a much larger ecosystem of needed change.

We remain so grateful for our ongoing partnerships with and , which support our environmental goals. This year to date, our salon has recovered 516.5 lbs of beauty waste, including 71.5 lbs of hair clippings, 119.5 lbs of plastic, 8 lbs of plastic, 224 lbs of metals, and 93 lbs of single use items. In addition to this, our partnership with The Great Raleigh Cleanup diverts all of our aluminum can waste – and that’s significant! You may or may not know that aluminum is the most recyclable material there is. Check out the photo of Preston to see just how many drinks we & our clients are enjoying week to week!

From our eco-friendly haircare product lines to our reusable towels & cups, from the detergents we use to our emphasis on holistic services, respecting our relationship with the earth is an undercurrent in all we do.

Through April 30, 10% of profits from all products sold in the salon will be split between The Great Raleigh Cleanup and , an organization with a global bottle deposit program that helps end poverty and stops plastic pollution. We are also stocking liters of some of our favorite haircare products from , , and , so it’s a perfect time to stock up and reduce plastic waste!
