In order for your wax to last as long as possible and look the best, make sure you are filling these after care instructions!

Is your waxer asking these questions before your service? If not, they should be!

✨If you are taking antibiotics, there is a chance of skin sensitivity and the skin may lift, causing excessive to come off. Wait at least 2 weeks after taking antibiotics before getting waxed again.

✨Similarly to antibiotics, Accutane and retinol are skin thinning medications and shouldn’t be used when getting a wax. Stop using retinol for 5-7 days and Accutane for 365 days before getting waxed again.

✨It doesn’t matter if it’s food related or not, your waxer needs to know! There may be trace elements of something you’re allergic to in the wax or pre/post cleanser. Give them a heads up just in case they need to switch out products.

✨This is mostly to give your waxer a good timeline of your hair growth. You may need to come every 3 weeks instead of every 4, or you could get away with going longer. It all depends on how frequently you get waxed and how fast your hair grows!

✨the hair should be at least 1/4 inch long, or about as long as a grain of rice, to give the wax something to hold onto. Additionally, if the hair is too long, 1/2 inch or longer, it could get tangled in the wax and result in a more uncomfortable service. Just give it a quick trim before coming in!

✨we want the area to be as prepped as possible. Exfoliating ensures that any ingrown hairs stuck beneath the surface are set free. This way, you are left with a completely smooth surface!

✨common courtesy, you want the area being waxed to be clean of any dirt, oil, odor, etc. especially if being waxed below the belt. Your skin, and your waxer, will thank you!

✨if absolutely necessary, you may get waxed on your cycle, the skin may be more sensitive and therefore more uncomfortable. Just make sure to put in a clean tampon before your service.

✨alcohol and caffeine dilates the blood vessels which in turn makes the skin more sensitive. Save those drinks for later!
