🚨 IMPORTANT CLIENT POLICY REMINDER 🚨

As I continue to restructure and grow Stylez by Hazel K, I want to make sure my appointment policies are clear and consistent for everyone.

I completely understand that life happens and sometimes appointments need to be changed. However, I also have to protect my time, my schedule, and my business.

📌 SAME-DAY CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING

Effective immediately, same-day cancellations and same-day rescheduling will be considered a NO-SHOW and will be charged according to my no-show policy.

If you know you cannot make your appointment, please communicate with me as soon as possible.

Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. Last-minute cancellations prevent me from offering that time to another client and result in lost income.

📌 DEPOSITS

Deposits must be paid no later than Sunday of the week of your scheduled appointment.

If your required deposit has not been received by Sunday, your appointment will be automatically canceled and the time will be released for another client to book.

Please don’t wait until the day before or the day of your appointment to take care of your deposit.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, communication is key. Please communicate with me as early as possible.

So I recorded this quick walkthrough to show you exactly how to book your appointment with Stylez by Hazel K.

If you are a NEW CLIENT, start with the New Client section.

From there, follow the service descriptions and choose the appointment that best matches what you need.

And remember:

If you haven’t been in 8 weeks or longer, you’re considered a NEW CLIENT and should begin there.

I want you to feel confident BEFORE you hit that booking button.

Your Micro Loc Retie is more than just maintenance—it’s a complete hair-care experience. Every service includes a shampoo session, conditioning/steam treatment when needed, and any necessary treatment to support the health and condition of your locs.

I also use professional products throughout your service, from cleansing and hydration to styling and finishing, to ensure your locs are properly cared for from start to finish.

Starting at $190
Final pricing is based on the time required to complete your service and the condition/density of your locs.

How often should you REALLY be maintaining your locs?

My general rule of thumb?

Every 6–8 weeks.

But here’s the thing: there isn’t one maintenance schedule that works for everybody.

I have clients who are perfectly suited for 6–8 weeks, while others may need to come closer to the 4–6 week range depending on their hair and lifestyle.

A few things I consider when determining your maintenance schedule:

✨ The size and maturity of your locs
✨ Your lifestyle & how much you sweat/work out
✨ Your scalp health
✨ How quickly your hair grows
✨ How your locs are holding up between appointments
✨ Whether you’re maintaining with retwists or interlocking

And please don’t assume that “the longer I wait, the better.”

Waiting too long can mean more work during your next appointment. Depending on your locs, you may experience excessive new growth, locs marrying together, thinning or weakened areas, or additional repairs that could have been prevented with consistent maintenance.

Your locs will usually tell you what they need. You just have to learn how to listen.

And maintenance isn’t always about coming in for a full retwist or retie.

Some of my clients benefit from a shampoo appointment between maintenance appointments, especially if they exercise frequently or simply prefer to keep their scalp fresh.

For my Micro Loc clients who prefer that fresh, maintained look, we can also strategically schedule a shampoo between appointments.

The goal isn’t to keep you in my chair every week.

The goal is to create a maintenance routine that keeps your locs and scalp healthy while working with YOUR lifestyle. 🤎

That’s the difference between simply maintaining locs and having a healthy loc care plan.
