Our soon to be graduating class Warren campus had a very informative two day financial workshop going over the financial side of our industry. Thank you so much to our very own Carl Hann, Program Head of Accounting, for making this workshop possible and helping to set up our future graduates on successful financial paths! I know they enjoyed it!!

Congratulations to one of our students in her very 1st semester she competed and placed 4th 🎉🎉👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. She worked hard for her place...i know you may not be able to tell 🧐 which makes it even more amazing, but she handmade those feathers out of HAIR 👀👀🤯. Let's show her some love👏🏽👏🏽❤️!!!

You have waited and here they are the winners from our preliminary competition that qualified to compete at the Cosmetology Competition held at the ! Along with an added treat this year a few of our nail technician students were excited to take on this challenge and compete! These are their finished looks and layout for the competition! They all did a great job challenging themselves creatively and I know it will be an experience they will never forget👏🏽! Of course everyone wants to win...and if not win at least place...right...well we did have one student place 4th this year can you guess🤔 which entry it was? 👀👀

You know what time is it!!! COMPETITION TIME! We held our preliminary competition to see which 10 students would represent VGCC at the Trades Cosmetology Competition. This is always a favorite one of mine because of how much confidence and growth the students who participate achieve from this experience. Worth it!!! Check out my next post to see the results of the competition!!!

This wraps up our 4th workshop with Career Services Team, Dress For Sucess and .smallbiz Center Team. Through these workshops the students have been given the opportunity to put all the pieces in place to successfully transition from school life to the workforce or entrepreneurship. These workshops have been a wealth of information and resources that the students are absorbing it all up and feeling more confident in starting their careers. Thank You Again the VGCC Career Services Team and VGCC Small Business Center Team!

Little late posting! We had a wonderful introductory class with on the impact a tricologist can make in the beauty and wellness industry. It was an eye opener for sure and the students LOVED it!!! Thank you and Teri for for this awesome class!!

I'm a couple days late posting this, but it was worth the wait. These students worked hard 💪🏽💪🏽and put their all into their creations, which produced some amazing artwork you see here☝🏽. This competition, The "BIG HAIR Battle, was about celebrating hair in a "BIG" way and represent what that meant to them creatively.
Shanna Jones came out on top as the winner of this competition! Gooo Shanna!!💥💥

*One of the best outcomes of these competitions is to see confidence and growth in each student (priceless)*

They finished their journey here cosmetology and are now on to the next step in their career, and I can not be more excited for them👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️❤️. I will cherish the memories we have made from challenging yourself creatively and realizing your full potential🤯 to those tedious but worth it precision haircuts✂️and finally to the wonderful world of color formulations🎨. I could, of course, go on and on, but most of all, I hope you have gained more confidence, patience 😉, and determination for your future. You will be missed and don't forget to come visit us.
