Hey SPT/Facebook fam,
Here is my update: This week I’ve been increasing my cardio again and continuing my strength training- upper body, total body, and lower body. I’ve been walking in the evening and am glad my mileage ability is increasing.
Hey friends,
As most of you know I last year I tore my Achilles tendon and had surgery to repair my injury. Through it all I have been and am expectant to have a full recovery and get back to 100%.
Even though this was a huge inconvenience, I believe attitude is everything! I don’t believe in wallowing- what’s it going to help? So each day my job is to get better than the next day (true with or without injury).
So now what? Because my cardio wasn’t what it was before, and I didn’t change my eating habits and I have some family situations that have me emotionally eating, I have gained about 10 pounds. Doesn’t sound like much but I feel the extra. 🤦🏽♀️ What am I going to do?
I have continued working out but admittedly not as hard as I’m used to. Now it’s time to get back at it. How? Well…
I will workout 5 days a week and be active 6 or 7 days, giving myself rest when it’s needed. Remember - rest is the reward.
I will also get back to controlling what I’m eating. Sweets and fried foods have snuck back into the mix and now have to go! Not a lot, but more than I’m used to😉.
I’m sharing because we look at other people and don’t know what they’ve gone through to get where they are: good or bad. Sometimes judging or comparing when we just need to focus on being our best.

Hey fitness warriors, I have been working my Achilles back into action and this week marks 6 months since my tendon repair surgery. I feel great, strong, and most of all resilient. Stay true to your goals - even when it seems like an uphill battle. Because when you get to the top, maintaining (coming down the hill) is a breeze🎐🎐
When you suffer from an injury it may be tempting to go hard with your workouts to get back to where you were prior to injury. Don’t! Push within limits of physical therapy and or listen to your body. Being sore is fine, pain is not!
