Finally sitting back and pouring through the photo album means LORD LET ME TELL YALL ABOUT THIS JASMINE! .a.deux.events DID THE THANG and I was able to (literally) weave it through the hair. This was BY FAR the BEST jasmine I have EVER worked with - and they included a variety of beautifully colored florals for some POP - chef’s kiss chef’s kiss - they nailed it. Great day. Great group. GREAT florals.

So let me TELL you about Bo’s (later Fisher’s) wedding. An alpaca named Polly ate her original love tree….like ate the s**t out of it. Like - the florist didn’t know there was a roaming alpaca that would eat crap and left the van open - and Polly ate errrrthang. During the ceremony - it rained, and then poured. Oh- And I accidentally got a whole thing of cheese puffs in the hot tub because I am stronger than I realized -
But I digress - this makeup/hair meant the world to me because this person means the world to me. I’m going to stop typing now because I AINT CRYIN TODAY. - just know I be loving y’all. ✊🏻🖤

Well hey there panda bear! 🥳 So - y’all know I’m not dead - but I did make the choice to take a little insta sabbatical over the summer for two reasons: 1. I worked my ass off trying to make sure everything was good to go for these fall/winter weddings so I don’t die. 2. I wanted to be present with my friends/family/clients without worrying about the next post. 3. We had a WHOLE LOTTA WEDDINGS this summer (and we loved them.)
Anywho - this is how my summer went: kicked it on my porch - chilled in LA - tore up the Mojave - gardened a lot - canned a lot - laughed a lot and worked a lot - but it might have been the best summer I’ve had in YEARS - and I think not feeling the pressure of social media had a lot to do with that.
Welp - I promise I’ll post some of the beautiful work we did on some beautiful people. Once again - ima claim it - we have THE BEST clients and I’ll fight you if you say otherwise.
This was the first full week back with the kids and….y’all….I love teaching. Returning to the classroom and focusing on weddings has hands down been the best choice I’ve made. It’s like the moment you figure out you can get BOTH of your favorite ice cream flavors in one cone. 🧚the dream 🧚‍♀️
I posted on my personal Facebook account - my kids need a class set of books. With the monies crowd sourced from the book of faces I was able to get a TWO class sets of two different titles (to keep at school and read in class) - welp. The way delta Dawn is trucking on through it looks like we may be back at the homestead before we know it. If you like to donate to the “buy three more class sets do each kid can have a novel to take home” fund - that would be dope. I know they can “read” online, but there’s something much more powerful about having a book in your hand. IYKYK. Regardless, it’s going to be a good year. I can FEEL it.
On a Modern Alchemy note, we had a deluge of inquiries the first two weeks of August - an abnormally high amount - I’m still plowing through them, and I’ll get back to you ASAP!

Hope you went outside and twirled at least once today. I’m sunburnt from being over zealous - serving a “mr-krabs-from-Spongebob-red” tea realness.

That doesn’t mean I’m not workin, though. In the last three weeks we’ve navigated 4 new reschedules, adjusted 6 timelines, booked out November, and lined up a really cool creative series for the summer.
I want every single client to know that they matter, that they’re important, and that they’re not a burden. I’ve had several express the guilt that they’ve felt in explaining challenges and changes - I’m here to tell you, we hear you, we feel you, and it’s 100% ok. 🖤 we’re up in this thang together.
