She was told to leave the rubber bands on her wicks until they broke on their own… and they did — right along with her hair. 😬
My first focus wasn’t the shape — it was the damage. I had to get those loose strands back where they belonged and rebuild a healthy foundation before we even thought about perfecting the look.
Rubber bands are not necessary for healthy wicks — they dry out, tighten, and cut into your hair over time. Maintenance and moisture are what really hold your crown together.
