These companies don’t care about our health and our well-being, which is why we took it upon ourselves to be that “mosquito in the room.” We KNOW our presence will make a difference by producing top-notch products and by educating people on what is truly out there in the “commercial world.”

Here at Clean Body Company, we like to do things a little different. We like taking cues from Mother Nature and let her bounty do the work for us. We use only natural, nature derived oils in our products from olive oil to coconut oil and even nut butters, such as shea butter. We research the source of all our oils and butters to ensure they are responsibly sourced and that their producer causes no harm to the environment. The oils and butters are also screened to ensure that they are pure with no additives. All of our fragrance oils and essential oils are from companies that are trusted and have excellent peer reviews; all the oils we choose are lab tested safe for all skin applications. The same standards are upheld with our essential oils and they do not contain parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, GMO’s, or triclosan. Upholding Safety

In order to deem a fragrance as safe, it has to be used correctly AND be used in safe amounts, as stated by the International Fragrance Association. There are a lot of companies that use wafting, potent fragrance to get you in the door; little do most consumers know that these companies bypass the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) recommendations and expose their customers to fragrances that far exceeds the guidelines set for safe usage. Who is IFRA? *“Founded in 1973, it is the official self-regulatory representative body of the fragrance industry worldwide. It’s main purpose is to ensure safety of fragrance materials through their dedicated program. IFRA publishes a list of usage standards for fragrance materials, limiting or prohibiting use of ingredients, based on the findings of the Research Institute of Fragrance Materials

Any additives we use in creating safe products for you and your family are lab-tested and have excellent peer reviews. Our soap formulations are evaluated from a chemistry standpoint to ensure the fatty acid ratios are correct for that particular variety of soap. We don't use recipes, but rather formulations. And More importantly, each batch of soap is tested prior to making it available to ensure there is no lye present in the soap (meaning the lye has been completely neutralized). Because we use correct formulations, our soaps test lye negative 24-36 hours after batching, not the traditional 4-8 weeks cure time. Our family decided we had enough of the hustle and bustle of coastal city life and wanted to provide a healthier, more peaceful lifestyle not only for us, but more importantly our children. Our son was always on the smaller, sicklier side. He had continual, non-stop problems with his health; some people may have seen them as not a big deal, but for us to see our son with continual respiratory issues, ear issues, gastro-intestinal tract issues, we KNEW something had to change. Our first winter in our new home, on our “piece of land” proved miserable for him; he was referred to quite a few specialists but before I let him be a human pin cushion, I thought to myself, “We HAVE to get back to basics.” He never did well with dairy (so he just didn’t have it) but I kept hearing how beneficial raw milk was, more importantly, raw goat’s milk. We found a source and from that point on, his health dramatically improved. His ear infections that occurred every 3-4 weeks in the winter were non-existent, the antibiotics that annihilated his gut flora were no longer, his inhaler regimen became obsolete, the violent way his immune system responded to viruses (that rendered him unable to go to school quite frequently) self-regulated, he started growing WELL, and most importantly, he was finally enjoying life as a healthy boy. During these trying times, his skin was also dry, patchy and “bumpy.” Over the counter, commercial lotions and creams didn’t help him. This was essentially our start in exploring natural ingredients and remedies. We tried multiple recipes that were published on the internet and even learned the very beginnings of “soap making.” But we were never 100% happy with the recipes we found, so we made up our own. We also knew there had to be a better way of learning how to make soap because anybody can post on the internet and it’s very difficult to w**d out false information if you have none to begin with. We were able to find a credentialed, master soap maker who is highly recognized by the Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild and in the soap making community. We worked diligently to obtain correct, scientific based education to receive our certifications in soaps and cosmetics, and will keep pursuing continuing education. And just in case you’re curious, our son is a picture of health; he swears he’s going to take over the company when he’s a teenager.
