I have had a little breather from all the moving, sorting, organizing etc. There are still some tears occasionally, and I still am receiving text and calls from people who are saddened when they drive by the store and see that I am no longer there.
It is really quite remarkable that we never really get the full understanding and impact of the ripples that we can create from our presence. They are good lessons to learn and take in. I think it helps to keep the focus of leaving ripples of kindness and always checking what kind of energy we are putting out into the world.
I also did not realize the enormity of weight and stress I was carry until I got out from under it. Working a full-time job, trying to figure out what I needed to do to make sure there was enough in the bank account for business rent & utilities, what shows, what marketing events do we go to or do. It was an enormous task and after having that lifted from the world is a whole new adventure. I have time and weekends and what a blessing that is.
I am currently putting focus on my home and things and projects that have been neglected for far too long. My friend and handyman Glen Meyer put up these pictures for me that have been sitting in a pile for way too long. This is my memory wall, full of love for my children and the experiences we have had. It just makes me smile. Mr. Meyer who is very exacting in his measurements didn't quite know what to do with my haphazard beginning. I think he did an excellent job of going with my free spirit!
The other pic is of these amazing art pieces that he hung ever so masterfully. I think they are superb representations of the strong and independent spirits of women and also gentle, magical and mysterious all at the same time. The nuances of women eloquently captured.

Well thats a wrap. Everything is cleared out and cleaned. Had the store Playlist going for one last time while mopping, just me, the space and the music. It was a little cathartic. It reminded me of when I first opened and I would spend the evening closing with the music turned up just taking in the space. It was like there was some secret understanding between us. Like this space had a life of its own. We have been friends for over 5 years and it was definetly sad to say goodbye.
I have been focused on everything that needed to be done to close out the space that I haven't really had time to process the end. The goal was to be done by the 15th. We met the deadline two days early which is pretty satisfying and also a huge relief. We created a lot of beauty here and planted a lot of seeds, never knowing what dreams bloomed to life.
A lot of memories are stored here. I wonder what will become of the space and what seeds someone else will plant? Will they keep the beautiful mural or do something else to make it theirs?
Even though this is the end of Dandelion Wishes it is the beginning of something else. Stay tuned for updates. For now keep casting wishes.
Well we are getting close to writing the end of this chapter. It has been a furious two weeks of sorting, trashing, donating, relocating, etc. I think one more day of cleaning and we should be done.
Into our 2nd week the air conditioner went out and my CC ladies Cheryl Barker and Cathy Labor were having to pack things in this nice comfortable space turned sweat box in the 100+ degree temps. Day after day these ladies showed up even though it was terribly taxing without the air.
I have said it time and time again that it takes a community to get through this life and this has been no different. I have been brought to tears many times thinking about the time and energy that has been invested by a plethora of people who just showed up.
Jan Jeans has been by my side from the start moving furniture and the heavy stuff. Working her day job and then committing her evening hours to whatever needed to be done.
My boss Anne M Comp who offered storage space, Dani Loeffler who made multiple trips to storage, Cheryl's boys Patrick, Shine and Konrad who helped move the biggest furniture piece ever which was a huge relief, my kids Tessa Erickson and Mackenzie Erickson who showed up with a truck and hauled and made deliveries to different locations. My friend Rebecca Dodds who dropped off banker boxes for packing. Mr Glen Meyer who helped take apart a stage and get some furniture loaded. Lorna Ader at Ron's Cafe who fed people when they were exhausted and hot, Sanford Ader and Riley Ader who took down our sign. It has been a whirlwind and I sure hope I haven't left anyone out!
Fingers crossed this will be a wrap by tomorrow. It sure is weird to see it empty and full of echo. It has been a roller coaster and I am ever grateful for those who have chosen to be on it with me. I love each and everyone of you. 💗
So we have a plethora of chairs, some dressers/vanities and other pieces left. If you would like to do some picking before they get moved, text me at 605.484.0373 and we can arrange an appt. Time is of the essence as our move is on Wednesday.
Hit me up!

Thank you to all the people who came in and made purchases on Saturday it was a wonderful chaotic day.
I was blessed to have a team of friends lending their hands to help wherever needed. Thank you to Cathy Labor who ran the cash register which allowed me to be other places, talking to people, moving merchandise, etc. Cathy has been with me since the beginning helping me hang ceiling drapery, paint dandelions and scrub floors. And recently we had been working together with fluid art and coordinating art classes. We WILL continue the art classes and are working on an art studio. Cathy and I have a lot of wonderful memories in this space.
Thank you, thank you to Jan Jeans who is new to my tribe. I met her through the store. One of my writings about Christmas prompted her to want to come in and meet me. This was the divine at work. Am I ever grateful that she was listening. She has been my muscle and my prompter keeping me on track. This girly has given countless hours in the last few weeks willingly and without hesitation or begrudgement. If you are ever moving you want this lady on your crew!!!
And last but not least my dear Mackenzie Erickson has been with me since the beginning as well. She is my heart and it has been my privilege and joy to work along side her, to witness her talents and her giving and kind spirit. It is a dream to work with your child one of which I will always be thankful. Mackenzie did everything from posting, to moving things, talking with people, running the register, you name it she did it and I think we got through the day with only one argument. Lol. And the best is in the end we always hug it out. We will continue to work together just in a different space and a different way.
There's still a lot of work left to do. We are getting there. For the most part I was able to hold it together. I think my first break was when a friend came in and when she was leaving hugged me with tears in her eyes and told me how proud she was of me and the success I was in what I had done and built. That started the tears right there as she scurried out the door to avoid breaking down further. Sometimes a person never really knows the impact of our actions, our dreams, the seeds we plant until a moment like this. It makes it all worth it.
Just remember we are not going away. We are reimagining a different dream, a different way and a different place. I am lookimg.forward to new beginnings and will post more as we closeout this chapter as to what that is.
Blessings and gratitude to everyone who has supported us through the years, who became our friends and partners. Much love is being sent your way.

Pretty much describes the situation in a nutshell. We are rockin and rollin though!!! We will be open Friday and Saturday 10 am to 6 pm.
Sure has been a mixed bag of emotion, little sleep and a lot of elbow grease. I never knew what this space meant to some people until they came to me with tears in their eyes and sadness in their heart and that my friends is what they call riches beyond what one can even imagine.
