My beautiful client came to me today wanting honey 🍯 highlights! Previously, she had done some red and black DIY projects at home on her hair so we knew it might not be the most even highlights. Needless to say, we were extremely impressed with the outcome of this hair transformation 😍

When I have a client who describes the hair they want as being chic, expensive, classic and feminine my first thought is this haircut. Long layers give the hair more body, movement and shape- while her face framing pulls the whole look together making it flow seamlessly.

I created this look a few weeks ago in the salon! I’ve been working hard on not analyzing the details too much because I can find myself in a loop. 🤪 I will drive home and be thinking, “Why did I curl like that?” Or I’ll be in bed pondering the question, “Why didn’t I leave the black cape on her for the picture?” ☹️ These thoughts literally keep me up 🤦🏼‍♀️

These are the type of details I care about as a stylist, but I forget that these are NOT the details my clients are looking at. They care that I took the time to curl her hair tight so she could wear it for longer and took the cape off after we trimmed so she didn’t have to go home itchy.

All in all, taking a step back to recognize the things I did well instead of analyzing the things I didn’t will get me much further down the line. 💕 Sometimes that just means waiting a few weeks to post work I am extremely proud of 😂😉

Trust 👏🏼 The 👏🏼 Process 👏🏼

My client came to see me back in January wanting to get rid of her permanent red color to bring back her bright blonde. After our consultation we decided to do this in 3 to 4 salon sessions. Her first session we did an all over highlight. In this session I went through and highlighted again but focused on the darker areas of her hair and her ends. Next session we will go section by section to get rid of the remaining areas of red. I love these transformations! The last picture is where we started 🤯
