If you come in for ONE wax and then wonder why your hair is already growing back 😩 there’s actually a reason for that!
Waxing is something you need to be consistent with, especially when you’re just starting your waxing journey. Let me explain why…
Your hair has THREE different growth phases:
🌱 Anagen = the active growth phase. This is when the hair is attached to the follicle and actively growing.
🌿 Catagen = the transition phase. The hair stops actively growing and begins to detach from the follicle.
🍂 Telogen = the resting phase. The hair is no longer actively growing and will eventually shed.
The important part? NOT all of your hair is in the same phase at the same time.
So when you wax, you’re removing the hairs that are ready to be removed, but there are still hairs underneath the skin that are in a different phase and haven’t made their appearance yet.
That’s why you might feel like, “I JUST GOT WAXED AND I’M ALREADY GROWING HAIR!” 😂
Especially with larger areas like your legs, you’re going to notice this more in the beginning.
The more consistently you wax, the more we can catch those hairs at the right time and keep them on a more predictable growth pattern. Over time, you’ll typically notice slower, finer, and more manageable regrowth.
So if you’re thinking about starting waxing, give it some time! One appointment isn’t going to magically make every hair on your body disappear forever. 😉
