Met a fellow Jersey girl who’s lived in Maui since she was a kid, and we immediately loved each other.
Paia is one of my favorite places on the island and I feel like it’s an underutilized backdrop. My goal for some of these sessions was to shoot in places I hadn’t before, and this surf spot being 5 minutes from my family’s house made this a no-brainer.
I love everything we shot and I love that all I needed to send Jo was a couple of inspo images and she totally nailed the styling.
Also, these ci******es cost me $17.

Please enjoy this absolutely stunning set of wide and cinematic images, which more often than not always end up being my favorite in a set.
Joy | Maui Photographer is beautiful and badass and we had the sweetest evening clambering over rocks and talking about our love for Maui. We met shooting a wedding the weekend prior and I just knew I had to shoot with her and her beautiful blue eyes.
Maui is home to locations I could have never dreamed of, and the sacredness of these spots is never lost on me. I’m grateful to be afforded the chance to create beautiful art, pick up little pieces of plastic left behind and leave this spot more beautiful than how I found it.

Meeting Brookelyn years ago has turned into a pretty awesome friendship. She’s incredibly adventurous and brave and said something at the beginning of my trip this time that really stuck with me and that’s, “be afraid, and do it anyway!” of course, we were talking about swimming with sharks… but I think it applies to other things in our lives too 🤣
I’m so lucky to be surrounded by women with incredible confidence, and the desire to live a full, exciting and adventurous life. Later on in the week, Brookelyn took me snorkeling, and we had an amazing time. She’s off in Tahiti right now waiting a group of women on a retreat and I’m watching with a little bit of FOMO from my couch in New Jersey.
Excited to see her again in April. Did I mention she made this bathing suit? She’s a total badass.

Maui has shown me new versions of myself every time I come. I never know who I’ll leave as, but I always will welcome the changes she creates in me a gift from the universe. A pulling of a thread that reveals a better, more embodied version of myself. That’s her magic.
