Got to refresh Emily's black and teal this week! Always a great visit!

Wonderful seasonal illustration about the stages of hair color. If you dyed it black, it will ALWAYS turn orange before it gets to the color you want it to be.

Isabel wanted to brighten up her hair a little without a lot of upkeep, so we gave her some subtle golden highlights! We avoided putting any directly on her part to keep it lower maintenance.

Live in an area with hard water or minerals? Even with a water softener, there are SO many minerals left in the water. A showerhead filter like the Sprite Filter you can find at places like Lowe's or Home Depot can remove a lot of them from depositing into your hair. This is a 6 month filter change done by a fellow stylist to show some of the junk that still flows into your shower (and can cause chemical reactions in your hair if they build up).

A little humor for your Sunday

Good morning! Happy Sunday! Let's talk about inspiration vs. reality. The second picture was done by the talented and was brought in by my client.
I referred back to her Instagram and was able to not only get her formula, but also get her foil placement, which is so rare. Now my client wanted two shades of blonde instead of just one, but in a "two blonde to every dark foil" that still works.
However.
The inspiration model has more hair than my client. And every stylist is different. Every head of hair is different. You can follow the same patterns and come up with something different. Hair is not an exact science. So next appointment we will be adding even more dark to get her closer to the inspiration, but she is content with it until next time.
