Cutting Kids Hair………. Why we’re good at it

For many of our kids, a haircut isn’t just a quick trim. It can feel like a full-body experience. The sound of clippers, loose hair on the neck, bright lights, the pressure of fingers on the scalp, the unpredictability of each step. A successful haircut starts long before the appointment. Practicing the “haircut” at home with gentle touching of the head and neck with a brush can help with sensory integration. Bring a spare shirt for itchy hairs. Do an all scissors cut to reduce noise and pressure from the clipper. Sometimes the win is just getting the child into the chair. Here at Bell’s we’ve had decades of watching our child customers turn into adults and even bringing in their own children. It’s awesome!
