2 years ago, Studio 214 opened its doors.

I remember dreaming about what the space would be. Countless floor plans that just didn’t quite feel right, watching the sign go up, holding the keys, and applying the logo to the door—all while dreaming about what the space would become.

At the time, I thought the biggest milestone and achievement would be making it to move-in day and opening the doors.

Since then, I’ve discovered that opening the doors was just the beginning.

Over the last two years, Studio 214 has grown, and so have I.

I’ve learned terms I never knew existed. I’ve learned building codes, rules and regulations, and legal jargon I never expected to learn. In the process, I’ve gained confidence I didn’t always have.

I’ve also navigated challenges, celebrated wins, and made mistakes—both personally and professionally. Through it all, I’ve continued to build something that feels more like home with every passing year.

The salon isn’t exactly what I imagined it would be two years ago…

IT’S BETTER.

Not because everything has been perfect, but because it’s been real.

Every appointment, every conversation, every recommendation, and every client who chose to sit in my chair has helped shape Studio 214 into what it is today.

What started as an empty space and a vision has become a place filled with memories, laughter, creativity, and a place I genuinely enjoy being.

To everyone who has supported this journey—whether you’ve been here since day one or you’ve only recently found your way to my chair—thank you.

Not every appointment is a dramatic before and after.

Sometimes it’s soft dimension.
Sometimes it’s refreshing a color.
Sometimes it’s adding movement, adjusting a haircut, softening a grow out, or making small changes that help someone feel a little more like themselves.

Those appointments matter just as much.

In a world full of dramatic transformations, there’s something I love about creating hair that feels effortless, grows out beautifully, and fits the person wearing it.

✨ I’m Magen!

I opened Studio 214 in 2024 and have been behind the chair for over 20 years.

☕ My blood type is probably coffee.

When I’m not at the salon, there’s a good chance I’m fitting in a workout, trying to hit my step goal, or meal prepping. I’m a total foodie. 🌮🥗

🌱 I genuinely enjoy mowing the grass.

🎶 My favorite band is Dirty Heads, and I love reggae music.

🖤 My wardrobe is mostly black.

Family is everything to me. I’m married to my best friend and have two older children—one adult and one almost adult.

🤍 I’m one of five kids and cherish my relationships with my siblings, parents, grandparents, uncle, and cousins. My siblings and I have a group chat called “Gang Members” 🤣

💇🏼‍♀️I love creating dimensional, lived-in color that grows out beautifully.

🎵 I always have music playing and will absolutely break out into a random dance party in my kitchen.

😂 I can be a little professionally unhinged at times, but I promise I’m professional at what I do.
