🌿 **Teaching Tuesday: What Is Cupping Therapy?** 🌿
Have you ever wondered what those circular marks are that some people have after a massage? Those are often from **cupping therapy**!
Cupping is a technique that uses specialized cups to create gentle suction on the skin. Instead of applying pressure like traditional massage, cupping gently lifts the tissue, which may help:
✨ Increase circulation
✨ Reduce muscle tension
✨ Improve mobility
✨ Support recovery after exercise
✨ Promote relaxation
The circular marks left behind are **not bruises**. They're temporary discoloration caused by increased blood flow to the area and usually fade within a few days.
Many clients find cupping especially helpful for tight shoulders, back pain, neck stiffness, and overworked muscles. Treatments can also be combined with massage therapy for an even more customized session.
Have questions about whether cupping is right for you? I'd be happy to answer them at your next appointment!

🌿 Teaching Tuesday: Why Drinking Water After a Massage Matters 🌿
Why do I always tell you to drink water after your massage?
While massage doesn't "flush toxins" out of your body as some people believe, it does encourage circulation, movement of fluids, and relaxation of muscles that may have been holding tension for a long time.
After a massage, your body is working to restore balance and recover from the therapeutic work that was performed. Staying hydrated can help support normal muscle function, reduce post-massage soreness, and leave you feeling your best.
A few tips:
💧 Drink extra water throughout the rest of the day.
💧 Avoid excessive alcohol immediately after your session.
💧 Listen to your body—rest if you feel tired.
💧 Gentle stretching can help maintain the benefits of your massage.
Remember, every body responds differently to massage. Some people feel energized afterward, while others feel relaxed and ready for a nap. Both are completely normal!
Have you ever noticed a difference in how you feel after a massage when you're well hydrated versus when you're not? Let me know in the comments!
