Advice I wish someone had shared with me when I had my babies✨
Having raised two amazing children and working as an OB/GYN for 20 years, I've learned a lot about being a mother. I value the well-being of my patients and want to help them be the best versions of themselves.
Here are 5 things I regularly share with my patients in pregnancy and postpartum:
🩷Self-care is not selfish!
You matter and deserve to take a moment to recharge when you can. Whether it's having a quiet moment to relax, pampering yourself with skincare, spending time with a friend, or buying a cute new lounge set! That selfcare can go a long way!
🩷Asking for help during pregnancy and postpartum is not a sign of weakness!
Perinatal mood disorders (PMADs), including depression and anxiety disorders impact about 20% of women during pregnancy and post partum. It's OK to lean on the shoulders of those you trust.
🩷How you conceive, birth & feed your baby does not define you as a mom!
No pregnancy and postpartum recovery is the same. Just a gentle reminder that how you get there doesn't dictate how awesome of a mom you are! (cause you are an awesome mom😉)
