It's been a while since I posted one of these but the results still make me cheese even after 4 years of using ♥️ 1 compact, 5 min makeup - thanks for making a tired mom feel pretty 🥰

Losing a little one isn’t something that is usually broadcast - typically its whispered about and a lot of times its an all together avoided conversation because honestly, what can you say about losing a baby? A child that you haven’t physically seen or held can be easy to dismiss when not experienced first hand. But when you are a Mother, their Mother… it is an entirely different feeling all together. It is catastrophic.

On February 15th, my world crumbled. I was 10 weeks pregnant going in for my first look at little love #3. We couldn’t wait to see the little gummy bear on the sonogram, to show Josie and Robbie their new sibling. At that time, the baby would be the size of a Valentine’s chocolate. We knew because we’d been excitedly tracking the growth with the girls since week 6. As I waited to see my sweet baby on the monitor — I instead saw confusion on my doctor’s face. Then I heard the words - “there’s no heart beat” My baby measured only 6 weeks that day. A full month behind. My head spun — I’d been nauseated for weeks on end and exhausted- all signs of a healthy pregnancy. It didn’t make sense. After that day, I went through another week of torment to see if I could’ve possibly mixed up my timeline. The week went by and sadly there was no change. I scheduled a D&C for two days later and began grieving the loss of our baby.

I’ve spent the last 2 months trying to pick myself up and carry forward through my heartache and its been excruciating. In my mind, I had already built the future of my family around this baby. I imagined and anticipated hundreds of moments that we’d have together. All of that was taken away in an instant and I know I’m forever changed. I never understood what heartbreak would accompany early loss until I experienced it first hand. I have a new understanding of suffering experienced by pregnancy loss and I want to hug anyone who’s ever felt this way incredibly tight.

Makeover Monday (swipe for unfiltered)

Did you notice my eyes aren’t looking in the right direction in the second pic? If you did: cool. If you didn’t: now ya did hahah. I almost didn’t post these pics because it was driving me nuts but here’s where the “MAKEOVER” part of Makeover Monday starts to be important — Makeover Monday isn’t about the makeup (even though its fricken incredible) Makeover Monday is about how you feel after you put on the makeup. Makeover Monday to me means prioritizing myself and encouraging others do the same. Makeup is that little extra pep in your step, the extra shot of espresso, the sprinkles on the cupcake — its that little something that makes you smile. Makeover Monday is about giving yourself grace and letting go of the things that don’t really matter (like where your eyeballs are looking in a picture) Let’s be serious - does anyone care as much as me anyway? Nope!

What matters is that we take a moment every day to just love on ourselves a little bit more. To laugh when things don’t go how we expected - taking a deep breath and deciding what is worth the trouble and what isn’t.
