Sleeping with wet hair can lead to a bunch of problems for the scalp: bacteria, fungal infections, skin irritation, redness, and dandruff, it can also damage the hair cuticle, flatten strands (hello flat hair), create an unpleasant hair odor (dampness mixed with natural sweat) and leave you with a matted mess. It will also ruin your pillows causing mildew to form.💕

The most concerning part about sleeping with your hair wet is that it leaves your hair open to damage & massive tangling. So if you are someone who perpetually wakes up to knotted, frizzy, and brittle strands, you may want to dry your hair before bed.💗

HOW TO SURVIVE A LONG APPOINTMENT IN THE SALON ✨
Appointments these days can be 3+ hours (unless you’re just getting a color touch up or haircut) here's some tips to keep comfortable while in the chair!💗
Bring snacks- you WILL get hungry.
Bring coffee or an energy drink- Hair appointments make everyone sleepy bring some caffeine if that’s your thing.💗
Bring a book- some of these long appointments have multiple long processing times, bring a bring to make the time fly by.💓
Bring water- we love a hydrated queen/king.
Wear comfy clothes but, no collars please- collars get in the way & while we try our best to keep clean, collars are a great way to get your clothes ruined…a cape can only do so much.
Bring a phone charger- I do usually have one in the salon but on the off chance I don’t have one for your phone, be sure to bring one so you can stay connected.💗
Bring your AirPods- if you need to be on work calls bring your AirPods so you aren't that client on speaker phone in the salon. 😉
Bring makeup! Although I will do my best to not smudge your foundation of chances are you may need a touch up after an appointment. 💗

It’s no secret that vivid hair color is complex to take care of, here are some tips to maintain your color & the health of your hair at home. ✨
Wash in cold water- I know this sucks but your color will last 3x as long.💕
Use a UV leave in protectant - I love the keep me vivid leave in from Matrix💗
Only wash once a week (if you can)💖
Use a strengthening/color lock shampoo & conditioner - I love Amika Color Vault- in conjunction with a moisture leave in.💓
Use low heat on your hot tools- high heat can remove your color!💕
Use a good heat protectant- Verb Ghost Prep is what I’m using currently!💗
