Red box dye & old black can be a scary combo 😅 But with realistic goals, a little patience, and an honest conversation, we opted for a heavy foilyage to give me a little more control and MAN did it pay off! 🙌🏼 We got some amazing lift, which gave us the perfect canvas for this gorgeous purple into pink transformation. 💜🩷 We were both thrilled with the result!

She loved the calico we did last time, but wanted a totally different layout this time around. Since then, she had put black all over her hair… so I had to pull out the magic wand and get to work. 😂

5 hours later and we have this gorgeous, blocked calico with tons of layers and movement. OBSESSED with this one!!

This is my son, Slade. Yes, he was named after Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke… so honestly I probably shouldn’t be surprised that I helped create a tiny supervillain fan.
But my favorite part wasn’t even the hair. It was watching him plan this entire little photoshoot himself. The poses. The expressions. He had a whole vision and was SO excited to bring it to life. That’s the part I hope I never forget.

Let your kids be kids.
Let them have wild imaginations.
Let them dress weird, make up characters, dye their hair ridiculous colors, and fully commit to whatever little world they’ve created in their heads. Because one day the magic fades a little. They get self-conscious. They start worrying about what other people think. They stop believing they can be anything they want just because they imagined it. So while the magic is still there… let them have it.

We’ve tried shifting her purple/plum color red a few times, but that stubborn purple just kept saying, “Actually… I’m the main character.”

So this time, I pulled out a few new tricks, changed up the approach, and FINALLY… we got her here.

A deep, dimensional, vibrant ruby red that catches the light differently with every movement. ❤️🍷

And honestly? One of my favorite parts is that she trusts me enough to let me play, experiment, and try new things. That kind of trust is where the really fun hair happens. 🥹🖤

I like to treat vivid appointments just like blondes treat gloss appointments—refresh the color between move-ups and keep the grow-out soft and seamless.

After months of transitioning her blue foilyage into teal, today was finally the day to bring it all the way up. Bonus? We got to make it the boldest, brightest teal she’s ever worn. 🥰

The best transformations often start with trust.

They knew they wanted color, but not which color. Instead of scrolling through endless hair photos, I found inspiration in a succulent garden and used it as our palette.

With complete creative freedom on placement, I got to paint with soft greens, dusty purples, pinks, peaches, and pops of chartreuse wherever the hair wanted them to live.

Less “copy this.”
More “create something inspired by this.”

And that’s where the fun begins. 🌵🎨✨
