How does one get back in the groove of posting on social media again? Because I know I need to post more often…but the “knowing” and “doing” aren’t aligning 😂 Any small businesses relate?!

Anyway, here are some beautiful brows! 🤩

Follow-up lip appointments normally go like this:
Me: “how’d you heal?”
Client: “I healed great! But I don’t think any pigment stuck”
Me pulling up their before pictures: “the pigment definitely stuck”

This happens because of a few things. The first being that after the initial appointment, the lips are very dark and very bright red, which sets a standard for how you think that they will heal. The next is that the healing process is a little bit intense. Your lips will peel like the worst chapped lips you’ve ever had in your life. It will look like most of the color is coming out. The next is that we only expect 30% of the pigment to last from that first appointment. Our lips are very good at healing themselves and do an excellent job of pushing out the pigment that I try and put in. However, all we are looking for is 30% retention. That 30% will make a huge difference in the overall appearance of your lips. This is exactly why I always take before pictures!

top picture is before, bottom picture is healed after one session.

Do I work over other people’s work? Yes. Do I always work over other people’s work? No. or not. Some things to remember: you have to be {mostly} happy with the overall shape. I can always add…but I can’t make things disappear! Most colors can be corrected with a darker color. Putting a lighter color over a darker color won’t work! My peonies are definitely peoning this year! The biggest one is about 8” across. Don’t ask me for tips and tricks; I cut the flowers off when they get too heavy, cut the plant at the base in the fall…other than that, I ignore them. Seems to work better and better every year! 😅
