We all have them… shampoos and conditioners we tried once, didn’t love, and tucked under the sink to be forgotten.

With our Beauty Without Bounds Program, we put those products to use. 💛

Donated shampoo and conditioner help us reduce waste, care for our planet, and provide essential hygiene items to community members who can’t always afford them.

✨ Two ways to support:
• Donate gently used shampoo or conditioner
(half full or more) Drop off at our brick and mortar location during business hours Black Fern Salon | Reno Alt Salon

The Beauty Project Foundation exists because beauty isn’t a luxury, it’s a basic part of feeling human. We serve people facing financial hardship, survivors of trauma, low-to-no income individuals, and underserved community members who deserve access to care without barriers.

Every number on your screen is a person. A human being. A Reno resident, using our program this year, who told us what these services mean to them put it simply: knowing they could lean on community support let them relax instead of carrying that weight alone.

We’re halfway through the year and we’re not slowing down. To keep going, we need you:

We started The Beauty Project Foundation because we know what it feels like to not feel like you belong.

Traditional salons and barbershops have not always been a welcoming place for people who don’t fit the trendy, fashion-forward, pop-culture mold. Being handed a narrow version of beauty that doesn’t make your heart sing is discouraging, and we felt that too.

The foundation exists because beauty care is not a luxury. It is dignity. It is belonging. It is a reminder that you are worth showing up for, exactly as you are.

We keep going because of the strength of community, and because we have seen firsthand what happens when people are met with care instead of judgment.

✨ We believe access to your own beauty is a basic human right.✨

We all know that beauty services are more than “just a haircut.” They can restore dignity, confidence, and energy to someone who’s facing hardship and often times that little boost is what helps them keep going.

Through our Beauty Without Bounds Program, you can sponsor a professional hair service, massage or skin service for someone in our Reno community who is experiencing financial distress, such as job loss, illness, or other challenges.

🌿 Here’s how it works:
➡️Your donation covers the full cost of the service.
➡️Our providers are compensated for their time and materials because their work and expertise matter and they have their own bills to pay.
➡️The recipient receives a safe, uplifting service experience where they can feel cared for, refreshed, and confident again.

This is more than a haircut. It’s a reminder that they are seen, valued, and worthy of care. It’s an honoring of their humanity.
