We are pained to learn they handed out some of those supplies this morning to a recent victim.

Today, we were pleased and humbled to make a donation of beauty products in support of domestic violence victims and survivors. It was a great experience to partner with Ms. Saly Fayez at the Fairfax County Police Department.

We were joined by our good friend Miriam Djelloul whose team at our local Bank of America delivered a beautiful and substantial gift basket.

We appreciate the important work FCPD and all our law enforcement officers do to protect our families and the community.

What a GREAT way to start off a Tuesday! One of our first guests is a hair donor for the Wigs for Kids program. He received an excellent haircut from Eugene and offered his hair to help create a wig for children fighting cancer. To learn more, visit: https://www.wigsforkids.org

We are proud to work with the Fairfax County Police Department to raise awareness of Domestic Violence. Our efforts this month are focused on acquiring new and unopened beauty products to help victims and survivors.

On Friday, we learned more about this effort. "This is the first year we are doing this," wrote Saly Fayez, Fairfax County Police Department's Director of the Victim Services Division. "It came from a case where a victim of domestic violence asked if my advocate had any makeup because she didn’t want to go get her kids from school with bruises on her face once she left the hospital. Any support is truly appreciated."

I asked for immediate support from my network within the salons and through the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses community. It was humbling to learn how many understood what this need was through their own personal experience.

On August 15th, our talented stylists, Lonnita Wanzer and Latoya Hall, had the pleasure of providing complimentary back-to-school haircuts at Herndon Elementary School's Back to School Bash. We loved helping the students look and feel their best for the first day of school on August 19th!

A big thank you to Herndon Elementary School, the PTA, and Ms. Yessenia Mendoza for organizing this fantastic event. It was an honor to be a part of it and to serve the families in our community.

Speaking of exciting visits, last week we enjoyed our time tremendously with our good friend Kirsten Pollard Goldstein and Ms. Dana Pooler, Senior Operations Specialist with Great Clips. It was a full day of learning from Great Clips' experts. We are excited to take the best practices from 42+ years of Great Clips' brand success across north America to benefit our two teams in Fairfax and Reston. It's Gonna Be Great!

We had a GREAT visit yesterday by Ms. Lisa Hake, Vice President of Marketing & Communications. We appreciated Lisa taking time from her travels to visit both our locations at Turnpike Shopping Center in Fairfax, and South Lakes Village Center in Reston. Lisa brought treats for the team, and GREAT insights for the salons. She helped us get excited for Back To School haircut season. Thanks, Lisa!

So very proud of our team and their work these past three days to raise over $575 for Cindy's Legacy Charity. It was such a joy and privilege to work with Stacy Brooks. Her important work helps families fighting cancer, and honors the memory of her late mother, Cindy. Cindy was a hairstylist!
