ZENSAI Wellness Wednesday — Woman Warrior Spotlight

Meet Shellie Baxter.

Some women are warriors because they fight battles. Others are warriors because they choose to uncover the truth, preserve history, and give a voice to stories that were almost forgotten.

Shellie Baxter is doing exactly that.

Through underwater archaeology and diving, she is helping search for and document shipwrecks connected to the history of the transatlantic slave trade—bringing to the surface stories of Africans who were forcibly taken across the ocean.

Her work reminds us that healing can begin with remembering.

At ZENSAI, I believe wellness is more than what happens in a treatment room. Wellness is also knowing who we are, honoring where we come from, and having the courage to reclaim the stories that shape us.

That is what a Woman Warrior represents to me.

As I continue building ZENSAI, I want to use my platform to recognize women like Shellie Baxter—women who are courageous enough to pursue purpose, preserve history, and make an impact beyond themselves.
