Why are multiple sessions of laser hair removal required?
Factors that determine how many treatments of laser hair removal you’ll need are; type of laser, your own hair color/thickness, how much your hair contrasts with your skin color, hormones (PCOS, HRT…)adherence to laser schedule (4-6 weeks face, 8-10 weeks body— waiting longer is better, too soon makes for more treatments and more money spent- great for clinic but not great for your pocket book!)

After 20 years of zappin people with my Lumenis LightSheer diode I would say most people are really happy at 6-10 sessions.

Facial hair may require more than 10 sessions just because the hair is usually finer in texture than body hair and also because facial hair is effected by our hormones- I’ll save all the details of facial hair for another video!

Every now and then I treat my skin like a science lab and experiment on myself 👩‍🔬

Last week I did a a microneedling treatment using all the bad techniques; dragging, creating bruises, pushing super hard into skin… I really wanted to jack myself up to test out some new products I’ve been wanting to bring on.

I will say that out of anything I have ever used PRP has been the most healing. PRP is made from your own blood after a blood draw into a special tube that when centrifuged separates the red blood from the plasma = PRP “platelet rich plasma”.

But in lieu of plasma there are a myriad of skin boosters available today. I used a few different products and 1 gave me an allergic reaction so I won’t be bringing that product on. It may work for some people but not on me and I won’t chance it on my clients.

I would say that PRP is the best post procedure topical followed by injectable-grade PDRN. I also love plain white petrolatum- it’s anti inflammatory and acts as a second skin for traumatized skin.
