One thing about me — I take this career and the trust you put in me very seriously.

This week, I got to be the student again. ❤️ Our salon hosted an Advanced Dry Cutting Class with celebrity stylist Brandon Liberati, and my stylist brain was in absolute heaven.

We dove into new techniques for creating movement, shape, softness and cuts that don’t just look beautiful the day you leave my chair — they’re designed to live well, style easier and grow out beautifully.

And y’all… THE SHEARS. 🤯✂️

I’ve been doing hair for 16 years and I’m STILL learning things that make me go, wait… WHAT?!

Different shears can actually affect the hair and cuticle differently — some techniques/tools can fray the cuticle while others create a cleaner, more closed result. Needless to say, a few of us left with some shiny new Hanzo tools. 😂💸

But THIS is what Bombshell Society is about.

I never want to give you a haircut simply because “that’s the way I’ve always done it.” Hair evolves. Education evolves. Tools evolve. So I should too.

Every class I take, every technique I practice and every tool I invest in eventually makes its way back to the woman sitting in my chair.

Because you aren’t just paying me to cut your hair.

You’re trusting me to know WHY I’m cutting it that way. ❤️

And apparently we loved learning so much that we’re already looking forward to another class in December. 🙌

✨ GREY BLENDING IS A JOURNEY, NOT A RACE! ✨

And sometimes, the most important part of my job is knowing when NOT to make a permanent change. 🩶

This beautiful lady came in last week for her consultation, and today was transformation day!

But as we talked, I could feel she wasn’t quite 100% ready to commit to the dimensional, icy look she had fallen in love with from another client’s transformation.

And girlfriend, THAT IS OKAY! 👏

So instead of pushing forward with a permanent change, I offered her another option.

What if I custom-formulated her toner to mimic that beautiful, dimensional icy look WITHOUT the long-term commitment?

Over the next approximately 6 weeks, that toner will gradually fade, giving her time to live with the look, see how she feels, and decide what direction she wants to take next.

The relief on her face said everything. 🥹

Then we updated her haircut with a beautiful, soft, rounded shape designed to flatter her face, complement her skin tone, and bring attention to those gorgeous eyes!

This beautiful woman has battled cancer, endured multiple surgeries, and experienced the loss of her hair, her breasts, her lashes, and so many of the things that made her feel feminine.

But let me tell you something about this woman…

SHE IS A WARRIOR. And victory is HERS. 💪🏼🩷

Her hair has grown back beautifully, and today she wanted just a little more density, a touch of length, and that feeling of looking in the mirror and seeing HERSELF again.

I don’t take moments like this lightly. Being trusted with someone’s hair is one thing. Being trusted with a piece of their healing journey is something entirely different.

✨ GREY BLENDING IS A JOURNEY—not a one-appointment magic trick. ✨

And THIS is what the first appointment of a thoughtful grey transition can look like. 🤍

My client has spent years coloring her naturally dark brunette hair, leaving us with quite a bit of artificial red pigment to work through. Underneath all of that? Her natural pattern is a beautiful dark peppery grey with bright silver sparkles scattered throughout.

Our goal wasn’t to make her blonde.
It wasn’t to make her completely grey overnight.
It was to start creating a foundation that will allow HER natural grey pattern to become the star.

For appointment #1:

🤎 TWO color-remover treatments to pull out as much old artificial red as her hair would safely give us
🤎 THREE customized alkaline color formulas
🤎 ZERO bleach/lightener
🤎 A whole lot of patience, chemistry and trusting the process 😂

And LOOK at the difference already.

Now comes one of the most important parts of grey blending: we wait.

I want to see how these formulas fade, where her natural silver begins showing through, and how those two temporal areas behave before I decide what the hair actually needs next.

She comes back in two weeks for a checkup, and I may add some super-bright, delicate babylights around the face to mimic those beautiful silver sparkles.

Or…we may decide we don’t need to.

That’s the beauty of customized grey blending. I don’t want to keep doing hair just because I can. The goal is to do what we need to create a soft, graceful transition with LESS maintenance moving forward.
