I don’t know where to begin.

As I write this, I’m in my car at the beach chain smoking; playlist on shuffle and reflecting on the my year in RVA.

The city, the love, the community and the joy I’ve felt being able to be here is insurmountable.
All because of Rae (.mindful.barber) and the home they built for us inside .politic.hair.studios

In the heart of Jackson Ward, they built this from a place of love and a desire to see diversity and inclusivity prosper and thrive. For a community who deserved respect, kindness and a safe place to visually express themselves freely. To cast aside the judgement of society and simply exist. Both as a professional and a client.

Yesterday was my last day in the salon (I’m securing a new location — will update you all soon).
