Crafting a look that you feel confident in wearing for your wedding photos AND in the moment of the wedding means more to me than you'll ever know.
With every hairstyle I create with you, there is:
Preview discussion/consultation time about multiple factors,
the Preview itself to create the look,
photos and videos of every angle,
post-Preview hair observation and notes by both of us sent to each other,
my personal research of ways to further improve your look,
Day-Of discussion/consultation time,
Day-Of creation of the look,
any final tweaks of the final look,
photos and videos of every angle,
and a card/gift from me to commemorate the day.
So when I get to see your photos, just know that my feet are happily kicking around seeing your smile!!💗💯💗
Every moment of the wedding day matters and I am so grateful I got to be a part of Maddie’s wedding morning!!

3 Things in My Kit that You Should Use:
1 - A hot tools - That could be a curling iron, flat iron, curling wand, or blowdryer w/ a diffuser. A hot tool sets your hair and locks it in the shape you create and heat is needed to do that.
2 - A heat protectant - You'll want to use an aerosol one most of the time for ease of use when using direct heat sources. YET a liquid one that I prefer gives the hair more staying power.
3 - A wide tooth comb - For naturally straight hair, this is the perfect way to separate curls with frizz-free results. For naturally coily and curly hair this can act as a pick to lightly fluff out the roots for some root volume.
Do you have these items in your hair kit at home?
Hair enhancements come in various types yet this one is my favorite...
Clip-in hair extensions are the most versatile temporary hair enhancement tool I have used for a few reasons:
1 - They come in various amounts of thickness to match your hair’s thickness
2 - There are a TON of color options (when you can be properly color matched) + human hair ones can be glossed
3 - When properly cared for and used weekly, you can reuse them for about 6-12mts before needing to replace them
I used 10pcs (2 packs) to enhance Shauna's already beautiful hair for her wedding and they blended seamlessly!
And before you ask that question that everyone asks…Will my curls last on my wedding/special occasion?
YES, they will last until you start running your hands through your hair a ton OR shaking your hair. (Because no amount of hairspray is going to keep curls frozen in place when you live your best life on the dance floor.😁😉)
Curious about how you specifically would benefit from clip-in extensions? Let's chat in a consultation!!

9 years...9 lessons...1 me and 1 you
1 - You are already uniquely beautiful... sitting in my chair and trusting me to style you simply enhances that beauty.
2 - There are times I absolutely love and don't love this career yet I am learning to nurture what makes me love this career. (I think this is true for every career.)
3 - A consultation aka a conversation/"coffee date"/meetup can tell you a LOT about someone if you actively listen to what they do and do not say.
4 - I only see you every 8-16 weeks in the salon or the day of a special occasion (and maybe on a Preview service), so I want to support your at-home styling routine as much as possible with my tips, tricks, and custom PDF care guides.
5 - Practice makes progress yet practice is usually frustrating when you have questions/are confused so ask me anything!
6 - Having conversations with those different than you can open your world to things that sometimes makes the biggest impact for you.
7 - YouTube University and Google University can be helpful, even for me, yet only for certain things, so try not to put all of your emphasis on it.
8 - Serving various communication and learning styles can feel daunting yet it really is a powerful connection skill when you get good at it.
9 - Your lived experience with your hair and skin matters to me. I want to understand your beauty journey and help you celebrate your beauty confidently!
I was my first client and it has been cool learning to view and experience things as a client to ensure I serve the best that I can.
In this time away from posting (yet still booked, thank God) there has been a lot of soul searching and conversations that made me think. I am so grateful for this cosmetology journey and I just want to be me moving forward, which will always be enough for the people I am meant to serve and connect with.💗💯 As a client or future client, THANK YOU for being here supporting my work efforts!!🤗 As my peer/mentor/general supporter, thank you for being here cheering me on!🤗
Happy 9th Cosmetology Anniversary to me!💇🏾♀️🥳🎉 (I'll see you here tomorrow!)
I hope you always remember your value...
You are worth more than what you are good at, what you have trained for, or what you inspire or create.
I see you girl because I am you.
Keep loving, keep working, keep praying, keep reading, keep laughing, keep praying, keep writing your own story by taking action... Even if you have to do those things on the mountains of life or in the valleys of life.
Keep being uniquely YOU because that is perfectly enough while you grow daily as a person.
Happy International Women's Day and Happy Women's History Month to all of my female beauties!!!
🤗💗🎉♀️

I LOVE my sleep... but what happens if you are a "wild sleeper"?
Making sure I don't stay up until 1am or 3 am watching or Hulu is catching up to me so I am for sure doing my best to reel that in.
When it comes to going to sleep though, my hair style definition always stays in place thanks to my nightly hair care.
If your hair naturally grows out and up to the sun (naturally tight curls and coils), a satin scarf tied in varied ways depending on the day is the easiest and most reliable method for me.
If your hair naturally grows out and down to the earth (naturally straight, wavy or loose curls), a “sleeve” secured with a snug-fitting headband is what I have recently found to be the easiest and most reliable method with clients.
How do you preserve your hair at night?
Happy Black History Month!!!
Being skilled enough to enhance the beauty of my salon clients is one thing…
But when my client sees their hair and is able to style it easier at home… THAT is the breakthrough moment.
Those moments are what makes the freedom my ancestors worked for worth it.💯✊🏾 And although today's generation still is working for so much, I am grateful to be a part of those helping bring bright spots of happiness to everyday life.💗

A LOT can change in ONE year...
Amaka and I met last year just before Thanksgiving; we saw each other again just after Christmas this year.
Although I encourage people to have hair and scalp check-ins more frequently, I realized last year in real time that life LIFES. Sometimes things don't get prioritized like others do, but sometimes time away to yourself is exactly what you need.
Amaka's mom Kristina sent an email after her first appointment but I didn't realize the impact of those words until the most recent appointment.🥹🥹🤩🤩
I am SO proud of Amaka for all the beautiful hair health, hair styling improvement, and hair confidence she has gained over this past year!!!💯🎉
At Amaka's recent appointment, I used a different product line (that I've been testing for almost 6months) plus different styling techniques based on her desired hair style appearance to create this beautiful curly bob with bangs!
Trusting anyone to refresh your look can be daunting yet if you're open to learning a refreshed perspective with styling, I cannot wait to meet you!
P.S.: Even if you don't think you're ready for a haircut, a Styling Lesson + custom Hair Care Guide can help you love your hair more as it is right now.
Send me a 🔎💇🏾♀️ if you want more info or to schedule an appointment!

Changing up your look = ❔❔
An INSTANT confidence boost!
Madison and I talked a lot before this big chop.
We talked about WHAT her new at home care would look like and HOW often she should have her look maintained.
Most of all though, WHY she was considering a new look.
I am so excited to see her embrace this beautiful new style as she embraces wearing her hair down and seeing her curls live in a new way!!
You can wear your hair, YOUR way, at ANY time. I'm just happy to support you on your journey to do so!💯
