I have been doing M.E. Mason’s hair since 2008, back when she was a student at University of Texas at San Antonio. Way before Blush and Bloom. Before all the businesses. Before either of us could have imagined where life would take us.

I’ve watched her graduate college, get married, have babies, move all over the country, build a career, use her voice, tell stories, report local news (even though she told me it wasn't glamorous and she had to carry her own equipment 😂). Now, MY LONG-TIME CLIENT IS A FREAKING AUTHOR of her own dark thriller romance😭🖤📖

Every detail on these cookies was hand-piped from start to finish—no printers, no edible images, and no shortcuts. Just custom-mixed icing, a steady hand, and a whole lot of patience.

I love getting to highlight local businesses by turning their logos into edible art. 💕

If I were judging this as a salon owner…

I’d expect this stylist to be somewhere around a senior stylist or master stylist level based on these photos alone.

Your work photographs well, which is important because photos often reveal flaws that aren’t obvious in person.

What could make your portfolio even stronger?

Not your hair—your photography.

I’d recommend:

* A cleaner, less busy background.
* Consistent lighting (a ring light plus natural light works beautifully).
* A dedicated “after” backdrop.
* More back-of-head shots to showcase blends.
* More before-and-after collages.
* Short videos showing the hair moving, since your dimensional color will stand out even more.

Overall Impression

If I came across your Instagram without knowing you, I would assume you specialize in:

TBH, we love all things girly. We LOVE doing your hair, your make-up, and all the things. We ALSO love the boutique, but we are terrible at keeping up with posting pics, stocking, etc. We also could use the boutique space for other purposes, but aren't quite ready to give up the life.

All we really ever wanted was cute outfits for ourselves. Maybe thats you too! So, we are going to do routinely post some outfits at pre-sale (close to wholesale) prices!! This process may take some learning, but if done correctly... I think we will all win.
