Marie Valentino has been an Oncology Certified Nurse and RN for 13+ years at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in NYC. She began her career on an Oncologic Neurology/Orthopedic/Pain inpatient unit, where she was mentored by the BEST healthcare professionals in the world. In 2011, she went on to care for patients in a Neuro ICU setting where she developed critical care nursing skills. In 2016, she transitioned to outpatient care at MSK's West Harrison facility. There, she continued to care for patients with primary brain tumors, malignancies that metastasized to the brain and/or other parts of the nervous system as well as patients with neurological symptoms. In 2017, she began supporting MSK's rehab medicine clinic. Here, she assisted with the administration of Botox, a neurotoxin, for medical use. Patients with ailments like spasticity, dystonia and chronic migraines praised the outcomes they were having from their Botox treatments. After witnessing the safety and efficacy of these treatments, she developed an interest and appreciation for the beneficial use of neurotoxins. This enthusiasm, coupled with her extensive medical experience and her love for people, catapulted her into the world of cosmetic Botox. She obtained certification to become a cosmetic nurse injector and started "La Mela Aesthetics". "Mela", Italian for "apple" is an homage to a business her family once owned, and to her Italian heritage. At La Mela, she provides aesthetic Botox treatments using her expert clinical knowledge and caring, friendly approach.
