Living Waters Hair Salon

My husband, Michael Nixon, has been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer known as a Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST). Due to the complexity of his diagnosis, his physicians referred him to the specialized GIST team at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), where he is receiving care from experts in this field.

After carefully reviewing his case, his medical team has recommended beginning chemotherapy before surgery in hopes of shrinking the tumor. The tumor is located in his lower intestine. He will begin chemotherapy starting next week.

Due to his compromised immune system, I am unable to accept anyone who is experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms. We must take every precaution to protect his health, and I appreciate your understanding and cooperation. I will turn you away.

This chair was never just about hair for me... even when I thought it was.
I thought I was building a business, chasing success, perfecting my craft-
but the whole time, God was positioning me for something bigger.
He gave me more than clients...
He gave me women with stories.
Women carrying heartbreak, pressure, insecurity, silence.
And somewhere between the consultation and the coloring, cutting and perms walls start to come down.
Conversations get deeper.
And what looks like a hair appointment turns into something holy.
I've seen tears fall in this chair.
I've felt the shift when heaviness lifts.
I've watched women walk in unsure of themselves and leave standing a little taller, a little lighter, a little more whole.
Because it was never just about the hair.
It's about creating a space where you're safe to be real!
Where you're reminded of your worth.
Where God can meet you exactly where you are-no pressure, no performance, just presence.
I don't take that lightly.
This is my assignment.
So yes, I'll give you the hair...
but I'm also going to pour into you, pray over you (even if it's silently),
and hold space for whatever God wants to do in that moment.
I'm just the hands.
